A system for storage and retrieval of items includes a shelving rack configured to store the items. The shelving rack has a plurality of vertical levels. The system includes at least one robotic carriage operable to move horizontally. The robotic carriage includes an extendable arm that extends horizontally and vertically to lift the items from an input slot and to carry and place the items on the shelving rack. The robotic carriage is also operable to lift the items from the shelving rack and to carry and place the items on a workstation. The workstation is positioned in close proximity to the shelving rack. By locating the workstation in close proximity to the shelving rack, the items may be transferred from the shelving rack to the workstation without requiring conveyors and ram drives.

Robotic storage and retrieval systems and methods

The present invention is directed to systems and methods for design and operation of a robotic storage and retrieval system in a warehouse. An exemplary system includes a processor and memory operable to provide a scripting language framework for directed operation of a control system of the robotic storage and retrieval system. The scripting language framework provides a shelving descriptor and a robot descriptor. The shelving descriptor is operable to model shelving to be deployed in the warehouse, the shelving descriptor further having associated shelving attributes defining properties of the shelving descriptor. The robot descriptor is operable to model a robot to be deployed in the warehouse, the robot descriptor further having associated robot attributes defining properties of the robot descriptor. A provided scripting editor includes a user interface operable to receive input scripting language code conforming to said scripting language framework and based on warehouse metadata. A provided parser is operable to interpret or compile input scripting language code into a runtime system. The runtime system is configured to issue control operations to a robot in the warehouse and is communicatively interposed between the robot and a control system of the robotic storage and retrieval system.

Scripting language for robotic storage and retrieval design for warehouses

The present invention is directed to a system and method for storage and retrieval of items including a control server and a database. The database receives the shelving configuration information of a particular user environment and the control server is operable to issue travel control signals to a robotic carriage within configuration parameters retrieved from the database. An alternate configuration includes a robotic carriage. The robotic carriage further comprises a base, at least one arm, and a motor. The arm is secured to the base and presents a resting surface for the items. The motor is cooperatively secured to the robotic carriage, enabling controlled travel by the robotic carriage.

Methods and apparatus for using a browser history file to determine web site reach are disclosed. An example method includes receiving a message from a first computer at a second computer after a browser history at the first computer is populated with information, wherein the message includes an identity indication of the first computer and the browser history is maintained by browser functionality native to the browser and sending an application to the first computer from the second computer in response to the message, wherein, when the application is executed at the first computer, the application accesses the browser history, extracts a portion of the browser history, and inserts the extracted portion of the browser history into a communication directed to a third computer.

Methods and apparatus for using a browser history file to determine web site reach are disclosed. An example method includes accessing Web site access history information stored at a client computer, accessing a user setting corresponding to a duration of time for retention of the Web site access history information, and sending the Web site access history information and the user setting to a collection computer different from the client computer.

The invention can enable monitoring of the display of content by a computer system. In particular, the invention can be advantageously used with computer networks or portions of computer networks over which video and/or audio content are transferred from one network site to another network site for observation, such as the World Wide Web portion of the Internet.

The invention can enable monitoring of the display of content by a computer system. In a method of metering Web usage, a collection program is downloaded from a server to a metered computer in response to a message transmitted from the metered computer to the server, and the collection program is executed on the metered computer in order to collect Web usage history information stored in a history file by a browser running on the metered computer. The collected Web site usage history information is transmitted by the metered computer to the server. The Web site usage history information is stored in the server along with Web site usage history information from other metered computers.
