A multi-torque double pivot hinge includes a first leaf having a first body and a second leaf having a second body. A first hinge shaft extends through the first body and defines a first pivot axis. A second hinge shaft extends through the second body and defines a second pivot axis. A connector connects the first leaf to the second leaf. The second leaf together with the connector is rotatable about the first pivot axis between a closed position and an intermediate open position. The connector engages the first leaf in the intermediate open position which prevents rotation of the connector past the intermediate open position and transfers a pivoting axis from the first pivot axis to the second pivot axis. The second leaf is then rotatable about the second pivot axis between the intermediate open position and a fully open position.

A vehicle seat assembly includes a seat back, a seat base, a first input lever, a second input lever, an actuator, a latching mechanism, and a system connecting the first input lever, the second input lever and the actuator. The seat base connects with the seat back and is mounted to a vehicle floor. The input levers each connect with at least one of the seat back and the seat base. The actuator connects with at least one of the seat back and the seat base. The latching mechanism is for selectively locking movement of the seat back with respect to the seat base or for selectively locking movement of the seat base with respect to the vehicle floor. The latching mechanism is operably connected with the actuator such that movement of the actuator results in movement of the latching mechanism. The first input lever, the second input lever, and the actuator are connected in series along the system.

A vehicle seating arrangement includes a first slide rail mounted to a vehicle floor, a second slide rail mounted to the floor, a multi-passenger seat mounted to the first slide rail and to the second slide rail, a restraining device on the multi-passenger seat, and a restraining rail connected with the floor. The multi-passenger seat moves in a fore and aft longitudinal direction and includes a cantilevered section extending from the second slide rail away from the first slide rail. The restraining device is located adjacent a lateral edge of the cantilevered section. The restraining rail connects with the floor spaced laterally from the second slide rail on an opposite side of the second slide rail as the first slide rail and cooperates with the restraining rail to limit at least one of lateral movement and upward vertical movement of the lateral edge of the cantilevered section.

A vehicle seat includes a seat base, a seat back, and a striker. The seat back connects with the seat base for pivotal movement about a pivot axis. The striker is moveable in a linear direction between a retracted position where the striker is disposed in the seat back and an extended position where the striker extends from the seat back for engaging an associated latch. Movement of the seat back in a first direction, which is toward the seat base, results in the striker moving toward the retracted position. Movement of the seat back in a second direction, which is away from the seat base, results in the striker moving toward the extended position.

A vehicle seat assembly includes a seat back and a seat base extending forward from a lower end of the seat back. The seat base is formed of a first foam member extending laterally across the seat base to absorb loads and a second foam member formed over the first member to form a seating surface of the seat base. At least one wire frame section is secured to the first foam member and extends rearwardly therefrom toward a rear of the seat base for mounting the seat base to an associated vehicle body.
