A lighted accessory for a motor vehicle includes a machined aluminum body. The body includes a front wall that has a plurality of openings through it and a cavity behind it. A plurality of lenses are potted in place within the openings. LED lights are installed on the aluminum body in alignment with the lenses. Additional potting compound is applied to cover the LEDs and substantially fill the cavity. A faulty LED board may be replaced by removing a portion of the potting compound and the faulty LED board, replacing the faulty LED board with an operable one, and refilling the removed portion of the potting compound with additional potting compound.

LED accessory for vehicle and method of assembly

On a motorized vehicle with handlebars and handlebar mounted levers, a motorcycle lever retention system includes a button operatively connected to and capable of toggling a rocker switch, a clutch or brake lever having a retracted position and an extended, biased position, a clutch or brake operatively connected to the clutch or brake lever such that the clutch is disengaged or the brake is engaged when the clutch or brake lever is moved into the retracted position, and a mechanism operatively attached to the rocker switch and configured such that when the button is pressed, the rocker switch is toggled causing the mechanism to prevent the clutch from being engaged or the brake from being disengaged and the clutch or brake lever from moving back into the extended, biased position until the button is pressed again.

An LED lamp uses a flexible metal fabric as a heat sink. At least one light emitting diode is attached to a circuit board that is mounted on a heat conducting member. The flexible heat sink is attached to the heat conducting member, such that heat generated by the light emitting diode and circuit board is conducted to the flexible heat sink. The flexible heat sink can be deformed to fit in a variety of spaces. The flexible heat sink dissipates the heat generated by the LED lamp without the need for a fan. The flexible heat sink may be made from braided copper fabric.

An LED lamp uses a flexible metal belt as a heat sink. At least one light emitting diode is attached to a circuit board that is mounted on a heat conducting member. The flexible heat sink is attached to the heat conducting member, such that heat generated by the light emitting diode and circuit board is conducted to the flexible heat sink. The flexible heat sink can be deformed to fit in a variety of spaces. The flexible heat sink dissipates the heat generated by the LED lamp without the need for a fan. The flexible heat sink may be made from braided copper fabric or even a plurality of flexible metal sheets.

On a motorized vehicle with handlebars and handlebar mounted levers, a device includes a collar or clamp on which a thumb lever and catch slide in a groove to a desired position and are restrained by a notch, detent, slot, or other disruption in the groove to retain a handlebar lever in a desired position. Preferably, the thumb and catch are biased toward a disengaged position by a spring, by gravity, or by electro mechanical means. Spacers, additions, and handlebar extensions can all be provided with the device to allow for installation on a variety of handlebar sizes. In another embodiment, the thumb lever pivots about an axis generally perpendicular from the handlebar axis between a disengaged positon where the catch is clear from the clutch or brake lever and an engaged position where the catch engages the clutch or brake lever and holds it in a retracted position.
