The present invention is incorporated in a three-part primary nutrient system for facilitating the growth of a plant in any growing media. The first part of the nutrient system comprises calcium and nitrogen and is devoid of phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and trace minerals. The second part of the nutrient system comprises nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulfur, and trace minerals and is devoid of calcium. The third part of the nutrient system comprises potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, sulfur, and trace minerals and is devoid of nitrogen and calcium.

The present invention is incorporated in a three-part primary nutrient system for facilitating the growth of a plant in any growing media. The first part of the nutrient system comprises calcium and nitrogen and is devoid of magnesium, sulfur, and trace minerals. The second part of the nutrient system comprises nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and trace minerals and is devoid of calcium. The third part of the nutrient system comprises potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium and is devoid of calcium.

Plant container

A capillary hydration system and method for facilitating the growth of plants are provided. An exemplary system comprises a base having a reservoir for holding nutrient solution, and an insert portion. The insert portion comprises at least one downwardly extending plant receiving depression that is capable of holding a growth substrate. The plant receiving depression has at least one capillary opening such that when the capillary opening is in liquid communication with the nutrient solution in the reservoir, nutrient solution is wicked from the reservoir to the growth substrate by capillary action. In accordance with various exemplary embodiments, the capillary hydration system may further comprise cover, including a cover with a supply component for refilling the nutrient solution without removing the insert portion or the cover, and a nutrient supply level indicator.

Capillary hydration system and method

A capillary hydration system and method for facilitating the growth of plants are provided. An exemplary system comprises a base having a reservoir for holding nutrient solution, and an insert portion. The insert portion comprises at least one downwardly extending plant receiving depression that is capable of holding growth substrate. The plant receiving depression has at least one capillary opening such that when the capillary opening is in liquid communication with the nutrient solution in the reservoir, nutrient solution is wicked from the reservoir to the growth substrate by capillary action. In accordance with various exemplary embodiments, the capillary hydration system may further comprise cover, including a cover with a hatch for refilling the nutrient solution without removing the insert portion or the cover, and a nutrient supply level indicator.

Modular plant growing apparatus includes a housing formed of inner and outer walls, opposed side walls, a bottom wall, and a top wall interconnected to define an enclosure. A liquid nutrient solution reservoir is formed in the enclosure by lower portions of the bottom, opposed side, and the inner and outer walls. The inner wall defines plant supporting structure including horizontally extending, vertically separated corrugations, each corrugation including a lower surface with a plurality of horizontally spaced apart plant receiving openings into the enclosure. A pump is positioned in the reservoir. A manifold and distribution conduits in liquid communication with the pump, include spray nozzles associated with the plant receiving openings within the enclosure for supplying liquid nutrient solution to roots of plants positioned in the plant receiving openings.

Modular plant growing apparatus

A water regulating plant container including a body having opposed side walls and opposed end walls terminating at a top edge in a rim and at a bottom edge by an inwardly directed flange extending from each opposed side wall. A raised bottom is carried by and coupled to the inwardly directed flanges and defines an underlying channel. The raised bottom has an aperture therethrough with a standing pipe extending upwardly from the raised bottom encircling the aperture. A tray is removably received by the channel under the raised bottom.
