A radio frequency (RF) electrical contact includes an electrical contact having a stationary electrical contact member and a movable electrical contact member that is received by the stationary electrical contact member. The movable electrical contact member is movable between an initial position and a mated position. The movable electrical contact member can contact the stationary electrical contact member at a stationary or fixed contact location.

Impedance controlled electrical contact

A cable assembly includes a contact ribbon made of a single stamping and including pairs of first and second signal contacts and includes a cable including pairs of first and second center conductors connected to corresponding pairs of first and second signal contacts. The contact ribbon includes a ground plane, a first row of ground contacts extending from the ground plane in a row along a first side of the ground plane such that a first line extending through the first row of ground contacts does not intersect with any signal contacts, and a second row of ground contacts extending from the ground plane in a row along a second side of the ground plane such that a second line extending through the second row of ground contacts does not intersect with any signal contacts.

Direct-attach connector

A contact ribbon configured to connect a cable to a substrate includes a plurality of signal contacts, a ground plane, and at least one ground contact extending from the ground plane. The plurality of signal contacts are connected by a support member, and the support member is removable after the plurality of signal contacts are connected to the cable.

A connector includes a connector body including a hole, a contact disposed in the hole and arranged such that, when the connector is connected to a substrate, the contact is connected to a corresponding electrical pad on the substrate, a conductive elastomeric interface arranged such that, when the connector is connected to the substrate, the conductive elastomeric interface is between the connector body and the substrate, and a cable connected to the contact. The contact includes a ground ferrule and a locking ferrule arranged to mate with the hole, and the hole of the connector body and the locking ferrule are at least partially threaded. When the connector is connected to the substrate and when the locking ferrule is threaded with the hole, the ground ferrule contacts at least one of the conductive elastomeric interface and the upper surface of the substrate.

Cable assembly

A cable ribbon includes a first and second twinaxial cables and an outer layer surrounding the first and second twinaxial cables. The first twinaxial cable includes two first wires that are parallel or substantially parallel to each other along a longitudinal axis of the twinaxial cable ribbon, a first insulator surrounding each of the two first wires along the longitudinal axis, and a first conductive shield surrounding the first insulator along the longitudinal axis. The second twinaxial cable includes two second wires that are parallel or substantially parallel to each other along the longitudinal axis, a second insulator surrounding each of the two second wires along the longitudinal axis, and a second conductive shield surrounding the second insulator along the longitudinal axis. The first and second conductive shields are in direct contact with each other.

Twinaxial cable and twinaxial cable ribbon

The improved reed relay package provided a 'pseudo' Form C relay that includes two Form A relays with at least one bridge filter element electrically interconnecting the signal outputs thereof to reduce stub capacitance and improve RF performance. As a result, the reed relay package can operate at very high frequencies, such as 18 GHz and higher. Also, vias can be provided through the support substrate to simulate a co-planar waveguide and RF shields profiled with cut-outs to better simulate a 50 ohm impedance environment throughout the path of the signal line.

Form C relay and package using same

A connector includes a connector body, a plurality of compression coaxial contacts disposed in the connector body, and a plurality of coaxial cables connected to corresponding ones of the plurality of compression coaxial contacts. The connector body includes a conductive elastomeric ground plane.

Compliant coaxial connector

A pin card for mounting in a test head of a semiconducter integrated circuit tester to implement test channels of the tester includes contact pins connected to terminals of respective test channels. Each contact pin has a free end for engaging a load board. A conductive switch element is displaceable between a first position, in which the switch element is electrically isolated from one or more of the contact pins, and a second position, in which the switch element is in electrically conductive contact with one or more of the contact pins.

Test head including displaceable switch element

A relay includes contacts residing within a glass tube. A coil surrounding the tube and a switch are connected in parallel between two terminals of the relay. A current source supplies a current to the coil and switch. When the switch is open, substantially all of the current passes through the coil and the coil produces a sufficient amount of magnetic flux to close the relay's contacts. When the switch closes, it shunts a sufficient amount of the current away from the coil to reduce the magnetic flux it produces below the level needed to keep the contacts closed. The current source is sized so that the coil requires relatively few turns, thereby allowing the relay to be relatively thin. The coil is formed by a conductor embedded in an insulating substrate surrounding the tube.
