A solar array lifting assembly and method. The device and method use a support pole, a pole bracket for supporting a solar array made up of a frame and solar panels, a pole bracket securing mechanism for securing the pole bracket at a predetermined height, and a lifting assembly for lifting the pole bracket and solar array along the support pole.

Solar array lifter and method

A floating, offshore drilling and/or production platform is equipped with a rail-mounted transport system that can be positioned at a plurality of selected positions over the well bay of the vessel. The transport system can move a drilling riser with a drilling riser tensioner system and a blowout preventer from one drilling location to another without removing them from the well bay of the vessel. Using the transport system, the drilling riser is lifted just clear of a first well head and positioned over an adjacent, second well head using guidelines. The transport system may then move the upper end of the drilling riser (together with its attached tensioner and BOP) to a second drilling location. A dummy wellhead may be provided on the seafloor in order to secure the lower end of the drilling riser without removing it from the sea while production risers are being installed.

Method and apparatus for drilling multiple subsea wells from an offshore platform at a single site

An insulative cover for large tanks containing a fluid. The insulative cover utilizes rectangular panels to cover a majority of the fluid surface and trapezoidal or wedge shaped panels to form a ring around the rectangular panels. Each panel utilizes a locking rim to allow the panels to interlock when installed. In this way the rectangular panels cover the main surface but leaves spaces where the rectangular panels do not match with the curvature of the tank. These spaces are covered by the trapezoidal panels.

Insulating tank cover

A solar panel positioning assembly having at least one fluid filled tank that is connected to at least one piston. The fluid filled tank is shaded by a solar panel when the panel is perpendicular to the sun. When the panel is not perpendicular to the sun, the fluid filled tank is heated by the sun, causing the fluid to expand and increase pressure in the piston. As the pressure increases the piston moves the solar array until the solar panel is perpendicular to the sun.

A top tensioned riser extends substantially vertically from a platform hull to the seabottom. The riser includes length adjustment at its upper end and is detachably connected to an anchor pile at its lower end. Riser tension is monitored via load cells incorporated in the riser porch. The riser is connected to one or more import/export flowlines or pipelines.

A riser centralizer for transferring lateral loads from the riser to a platform hull includes a keel centralizer mounted on a keel joint. The keel centralizer is received within a keel guide sleeve secured in a support mounted at the lower end of the platform hull. The keel centralizer includes a nonmetallic composite bearing ring having a radiused peripheral profile for minimizing contact stresses between the keel centralizer and the keel guide sleeve in extremes of riser and platform motion. The internal surface of the keel guide sleeve is clad with a corrosion resistant alloy and coated with a wear resistant ceramic rich coating.
