In a vehicle seat, a cushion pad includes a center portion and left and right side portions disposed, respectively, at left and right sides of the center portion. The cushion pad has a first slit provided between the center portion and each of the left and right side portions. The outer covering includes a center cover disposed to cover the center portion, and left and right side covers disposed to cover the left and right side portions, respectively. The outer covering has a second slit provided between the center cover and each of the left and right side covers. Left and right movement restriction plates are fixed to the left and right side covers, respectively. A cushion frame includes left and right engageable portions disposed, respectively, adjacent to the left and right movement restriction plates in positions laterally outward of the movement restriction plates.

Vehicle seat

A seat covering for a seat includes a first covering having a first perforation configuration and a second covering having a second perforation configuration. The second perforation configuration terminates to define a region without perforations adjacent to an edge of the second covering. The first covering and the second covering are joined together at a seam, and a line of stitching is provided along the seam in the region without perforations. One embodiment of the seat covering includes the first covering having a narrow width at the front side of the seat bottom. The first covering widens to a greater width at the rear portion of the seat bottom.

Seat covering and method of forming same

A vehicle seat includes a seat pad and a bracket configured to be held by the seat pad. The seat pad includes a first pad member and a second pad member firmer than the first pad member. The bracket includes an embedded portion embedded in the second pad member and a protrusion that protrudes outward from the second pad member. The protrusion includes an attachment surface in which a through-hole for attachment of a component is formed.

A vehicle head restraint assembly includes a support frame for supporting a head restraint cushion, a stay configured to connect with an associated vehicle seatback and a slide pivot bracket mechanism connected with the support frame and the stay. The slide pivot bracket mechanism is configured to allow for selective movement of the support frame with respect to the stay along a translational axis. The slide pivot bracket mechanism includes a lower bar extending along the translational axis and a plurality of teeth extending upward from the lower bar to define position recesses for receiving the support frame and inhibit movement of the support frame with respect to the stay when the support frame is received in one of the position recesses.

Adjustable vehicle head restraint assembly

A head rest for a seat assembly includes a rotation mechanism that allows the head rest to rotate with respect to the seat assembly. The rotation mechanism may allow the head rest to incline when in a raised position to provide clearance for an occupant seated in the seat assembly. The rotation mechanism also may allow the head rest to rotate outward from the seat assembly when in a lowered position to displace the occupant with respect to the seat assembly.

Rotating head rests

A vehicle head restraint assembly includes a head restraint body for providing support to a vehicle occupant's head and a lower frame assembly for mounting the head restraint body to an associated vehicle structure. The head restraint body is longitudinally adjustable relative to the lower frame assembly. An upper frame assembly can be secured to the head restraint body and movably secured to the lower frame assembly for longitudinally adjusting the head restraint body relative to the lower frame assembly.

Vehicle head restraint assembly

A headrest removal assembly may include a removal device that is operable by an engagement surface to permit removal of a headrest assembly from a seat. The headrest removal assembly may also include a cap that covers the engagement surface to prevent access to the engagement surface and to prevent removal of the headrest assembly. The cap may be moveable with respect to the removal device to uncover the engagement surface to provide access to the engagement surface and to permit removal of the headrest assembly.

Hidden headrest removal assembly

A vehicle seat back includes a frame and back support member. The back support member can connect with the frame at a first location and at a second location. The back support member can include a breakaway connection configured to rupture during a crash event to increase an operative length of the back support member.

Passive energy absorbing seat

A vehicle head restraint assembly includes a support frame, a stay, and a rack and pinion assembly. The support frame supports a head restraint cushion. The stay connects with a vehicle seat back. The rack and pinion assembly connects with the support frame and the stay. The rack and pinion assembly is configured to allow for selective movement of the support frame with respect to the stay along a translational axis. The rack and pinion assembly includes a pinion, a rack, and a locking cage. The pinion includes a plurality of pinion teeth. The rack includes a plurality of rack teeth. The rack teeth engage the pinion teeth when the support frame moves in the translational axis with respect to the stay. The locking cage selectively engages the rack and is spaced from the rack teeth. The locking cage includes locking cage teeth.

A vehicle may have a load floor with a load receiving surface that is supported to the frame and a panel having first and second sides, the second side having a storage cavity. The panel may be adjustable between: (1) a first position where the first side defines at least a portion of the load receiving surface and the second side defines no portion of the load receiving surface; and, (2) a second position where the first side defines no portion of the load receiving surface and the second side defines at least a portion of the load receiving surface. When the panel is in the first position, a pillow may be at least partially received within the storage cavity and it may be hidden. When the panel is in the second position, the pillow may not be hidden.

A headrest lock guide assembly for removably securing a headrest assembly to a vehicle seat can include a lock housing configured to house a headrest post extending through the lock housing, a lock slidably located within the lock housing, and a tool passageway extending through the housing. The lock can be slid against a spring force between a locked and unlocked position by inserting a tool through the tool passageway in the lock housing. A lock housing cover can be provided that is non-movably secured to the lock housing and can include a cover abutment surface adjacent to and blocking a lock body opening in the housing. The lock can include a lock abutment surface and a post engagement member configured and dimensioned to selectively engage a portion of the headrest assembly to lock the portion of the headrest assembly within the lock guide. The lock is movable within the lock cavity between a locked position in which the post engagement member extends over a portion of a through bore and the lock abutment surface contacts the cover abutment surface, and an unlocked position in which the post engagement member is located outside the perimeter of the through bore in the hollow post stem and the lock abutment surface is spaced from the cover abutment surface. A spring member can bias the lock into the locked position.
