In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, embodiments of fluid pumps, pump cases, valve bodies, and volutes are disclosed herein. Embodiments of methods for manufacturing fluid pumps, pump cases, valve bodies, and volutes are also disclosed herein. Embodiments can include additive manufacturing, for example. Certain embodiments can include additively manufacturing a pump case in a tilted orientation, utilizing only coincidental support structure having a unique shape, and with teardrop shaped volute and/or valve body.

Fluid pumps

A pump assembly includes an impeller, a diffuser ring, and an additively manufactured coupler. The diffuser ring is fluidly coupled to the impeller. The additively manufactured coupler is fluidly coupled to the diffuser ring. The additively manufactured coupler has a teardrop shaped cross-section. The pump assembly also includes a volute fluidly coupled to the coupler. The volute is configured to receive fluid from the diffuser ring through the additively manufactured coupler. The teardrop geometry of the additively manufactured coupler is designed to reduce pressure loss in fluid flowing to the volute.

A mounting bracket configured to receive a device to mount the device can include a first portion extending in an axial direction and configured to mount to a first side of the device, a second portion extending in the axial direction and configured to mount to a second side of the device, and a crossbar structure connecting the first portion to the second portion. The crossbar structure can extend between the first portion and the second portion in a transverse direction to the axial direction. The crossbar structure can be configured to flex to allow the first portion and the second portion to move laterally apart to allow insertion of the device between the first portion and the second portion and snap fit of the device between the first portion and the second portion.

Device mounting brackets

A wiper apparatus includes a wiper axis interface configured for mounting a wiper assembly to a wiper drive. A lower wiper arm extends from the wiper axis interface to a wiper mount that is configured to connect the lower arm to an upper arm. A first end of the lower wiper arm proximate the wiper axis interface has a first airfoil profile and wall thickness. A second end of the lower wiper arm proximate the wiper mount has a second airfoil profile and wall thickness. An intermediate portion of the lower wiper arm extending between the first and second ends has a transitioning airfoil profile and thickness that transitions from the first airfoil profile and wall thickness to the second airfoil profile and wall thickness.

A shock resistant body comprises a non-metallic lattice structure having a first region with a first foam density in a first region and a second foam density in a second region that is lower from the first foam density. The first region has solid lattice members of a larger cross-sectional area than those in the second region and the first region has smaller interstices between solid lattice members than those in the second region.

Additively manufactured fluid pumps and portions thereof

An assembly is provided for a piece of rotational equipment. This assembly includes a first structure, a second structure and a fluid transfer assembly. The first structure is configured with an aperture. The second structure is configured as or otherwise includes a port. The fluid transfer assembly includes a fluid conduit and a slider element. The fluid conduit is configured as a monolithic tubular body that includes a first conduit end, a second conduit end, a first coupling and a second coupling. The fluid conduit extends axially along a centerline from the first conduit end, through the aperture and into the port to the second conduit end. The first coupling is mated with the first structure through the slider element. The second coupling is mated with the second structure through a cone seal interface.
