The present process comprises hydrocracking a hydrocarbon feed in a first stage. The catalyst in the first stage is a conventional hydrocracking catalyst. The product from the first stage can then be transferred to a second hydrocracking stage. The catalyst used in the second stage of the present hydrocracking process comprises a base impregnated with metals from Group 6 and Groups 8 through 10 of the Periodic Table. The base of the catalyst used in the present second hydrocracking stage comprises alumina, an amorphous silica-alumina (ASA) material, a USY zeolite and zeolite ZSM-12.

A method of viewing a live image from a microscope through a camera lens of a first personal electronic device is described. The method includes receiving one or more optic powers of a microscope taking the live image entered into a first graphical user interface displayed on a screen of the first personal electronic device, and projecting a measurement tool on a second graphical user interface displayed on the screen of the first personal electronic device with units of measurement based on the entered optic powers. One or more non-transitory, computer-readable storage media and a computer or computer system are also described. Hardware designed to connect a personal electronic device such as a smartphone to a microscope for viewing of a live microscope image through the camera lens of the personal electronic device is also described.

A lens selector for selectively exposing one camera lens and covering other camera lenses of a cell phone or the like is shown and described. The lens selector comprises a base which grips the cell phone and a lens cover movable between two or more positions. The lens cover may slide along the base when moving between positions. An arm resiliently biased into an engaged positions may lock the lens cover into a selected position on the base. The lens selector may substantially cover that side of the cell phone having lenses, and may grip edges of the cell phone. The lens selector may include a socket for centering an associated cell phone with respect to an optical device such as a spotting scope, so that the cell phone may capture images visible through the scope.

A method of increasing hydrophobicity of a molecular sieve is provided. The method includes: (a) providing a metallosilicate molecular sieve having a framework consisting of oxides of silicon (Si) and a metal (M), wherein M is boron or zinc; (b) contacting the metallosilicate molecular sieve with a liquid aqueous system, thereby obtaining a demetallated molecular sieve having silanol nests and empty framework sites; and (c) thermally treating the demetallated molecular sieve, thereby obtaining a thermally-treated molecular sieve, wherein the thermally-treated molecular sieve (i) retains the three-dimensional framework structure of the metallosilicate molecular sieve and (ii) has a higher Si/M molar ratio as compared to the metallosilicate molecular sieve.

Method for preparing hydrophobic molecular sieves from borosilicate and zincosilicate molecular sieves

An aluminosilicate molecular sieve of STW framework type, designated herein as SSZ-110, and having a molar ratio of SiO/AlOof less than 100, is provided. SSZ-110 may be synthesized using an organic structure directing agent selected from one or more of 1,4-bis(2,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazolium)butane dications, 1,5-bis(2,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazolium)pentane dications, and 1,6-bis(2,3-dimethyl-1H-imidazolium)hexane dications. SSZ-110 may be used in organic compound conversion reactions and sorptive processes.

We provide a method for removing contaminants from a gas, comprising: alternating input of the gas between two or more beds of adsorbent particles that comprise zeolite SSZ-36, zeolite SSZ-39, or zeolite SSZ-45; wherein the gas contacts one of the beds during an adsorption and a tail gas is simultaneously vented from another of the beds by desorption; wherein a contacting pressure is from about 345 kPa to about 6895 kPa and produces a product gas containing no greater than about 2 mol % carbon dioxide, at least about 10 wppm water, at least about 65 mol % of methane recovered from the feed gas, and at least about 25 mol % of ethane recovered from the feed gas; and wherein the tail gas is vented from the feed end of the beds. We also provide a method for removing a contaminant from a gas, wherein the gas contains hydrogen sulfide.

An AFX framework type zeolite having a SiO/AlOmolar ratio of greater than 50 is disclosed. The high-silica AFX framework type zeolite is synthesized from a reaction mixture having high silica and low hydroxide concentrations in the presence of an organic structure directing agent comprising 1,3-bis(1-adamantyl)imidazolium cations.
