The at least one partition defines a flame arrestor configured to provide fluid communication between the first battery compartment and the second battery compartment such that combustion gases are ventable therebetween.

Systems and methods for containing ignition within a battery housing

An equipment dry bay is provided. The equipment dry bay includes at least one partition that subdivides the equipment dry bay into a plurality of compartments, wherein the at least one partition includes a plate, and at least one flame arrestor positioned within the plate and providing vapor and fluid communication between a first compartment and a second compartment of the plurality of compartments, the at least one flame arrestor configured to vent combustion gases in the first compartment into the second compartment.

Systems and methods for containing ignition within equipment dry bays

An apparatus comprises a refueling system for a number of fuel tanks, a primary valve, and a secondary valve. The refueling system has branches capable of distributing fuel into the number of fuel tanks. The primary valve is associated with a primary branch in the branches. The primary valve and the secondary valve are independently controlled to change a distribution of the fuel through the branches into the number of fuel tanks.

Apparatus for refueling aircraft

Apparatus and methods are provided to minimize the escape of fuel out of a fuel tank when a tank wall is penetrated by a bullet. In one embodiment, a pressure differential may be maintained between a pressure within a fuel tank cavity and another pressure outside the fuel tank cavity in order to minimize the loss of fuel upon penetration of the fuel tank. In another embodiment, a compressed rubber layer of fuel-reactive rubber may be provided which is adapted to be attached to a fuel tank wall and to swell upon contact with fuel in order to substantially seal a penetrated hole in the fuel tank wall.
