Catheterization packages and methods thereof

Examples relate to fluid collection assemblies, systems, and methods for collecting fluid from a wearer of the fluid collection assembly. The fluid collection assemblies include a fluid collection device attachable to an adapter. The fluid collection device includes porous material disposed within a fluid impermeable barrier. The adapter includes an interfacing body having at least one orifice and at least one attachment feature for attaching the adapter to the fluid collection device such that the porous material is fluidly connected to the at least one orifice. A fluid collection system includes a fluid collection device operably coupled to a fluid storage container and vacuum source via one or more sections of conduit.

Adapters for fluid collection devices

An intermittent catheter package including a plurality of components and a catheterization tray configured to facilitate a catheterization procedure. The plurality of components include a urinary catheter fluidly connected to a urine-drainage bag and a sampling-port access device configured to fluidly connect to a urine-sampling port of the urinary catheter or the urine-drainage bag for aseptic collection of one or more urine samples. The catheterization tray includes at least a first compartment, a second compartment, and a third compartment configured to hold the plurality of components. The first compartment is configured to hold the urinary catheter. The second compartment is connected to the first compartment by an intercompartment connection. Examples relate to garments, systems, and methods for fluid collection or removing fluids from a fluid collection device. The fluid collection garments include a fabric body configured to be worn on the pelvis of a wearer, where the fabric body has a port thereon or therein, where the port holds a fluid collection device therein. The fluid collection device is shaped to complement the female anatomy or male anatomy near the urethra. The fluid collection device can include a vacuum source in fluid communication with the fluid collection device via one or more sections of conduit.

Fluid collection garments

Disclosed is a catheterization package including catheterization-package components and a catheterization tray configured to facilitate a catheterization procedure. The catheterization-package components include a urinary catheter fluidly connected to a urine-drainage bag and a sampling-port access device configured to fluidly connect to a urine-sampling port of the urinary catheter or the urine-drainage bag for aseptic collection of one or more urine samples. The catheterization tray includes at least a first compartment, a second compartment, and a third compartment configured to hold the catheterization-package components. The first compartment is configured to hold the urinary catheter. The second compartment is connected to the first compartment by an intercompartment connection. The second compartment is configured to hold the urine-drainage bag. The third compartment is configured to hold the sampling-port access device. Embodiments described herein are directed to tubing management members and urine collection systems including such tubing management members. In an embodiment, a tubing management member may be coupled and, in some embodiments, removably coupled to a drainage tube of the urine collection system. The tubing management member may include a plurality of attachment elements for attaching the tubing management member to the drainage tube.

Tubing management members and urine collection systems using the same

There is provided herein, a method of attaching a mesh to a loop member, which includes covering a wire with a layer, manipulating the wire along with the layer to form the loop member, wherein the loop member has a shape, placing the mesh over the loop member, wherein portions of the mesh extend beyond a circumference of the loop member, transferring heat to the layer to cause it to partially melt and become tacky, allowing the mesh to fuse with the tacky layer and form a secure bond on cooling, and trimming portions of the mesh extending beyond the circumference of the loop member. A retrieval device formed by the method includes the loop member and attached mesh positioned and longitudinally movable within a tubular sheath. The loop member and mesh are deployed to capture a target object and partially retracted for removal of the object.

Method of attaching a mesh to a coated loop member of a surgical snare device

This specification describes methods of attaching a mesh to a loop member, which includes covering a wire with a layer, manipulating the wire along with the layer to form the loop member, placing the mesh over the loop member, transferring heat to the layer to cause it to partially melt and become tacky, allowing the mesh to fuse with the tacky layer and form a secure bond on cooling, and trimming portions of the mesh extending beyond the circumference of the loop member. The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter assembly and method of making and using the packaged urinary catheter assembly. The urinary catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one aperture for receiving fluid from a patient. The urinary catheter is contained within a sleeve having a length, a width, and a size configured to receive the catheter. According to one embodiment, the urinary catheter and the sleeve may be arranged in a helical coil. The outer surface of the urinary catheter may have a lubricious and/or an antimicrobial coating.

Enhanced pre-wetted intermittent catheter with lubricious coating

The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter assembly and method of using the packaged urinary catheter assembly. The catheter assembly includes a conduit having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one aperture for receiving fluid from a patient. The conduit is contained within a sleeve having a length, a width, and a size configured to receive the catheter. According to one embodiment, the conduit and the sleeve may be arranged in a helical coil. The outer surface of the conduit may have a lubricious and/or an antimicrobial coating.

In one embodiment, an access sheath includes a sheath assembly including sheath tubing, the sheath tubing having a main lumen and a secondary lumen that extends along the length of the main lumen. The main lumen has a first cross-sectional area, a first length, and a distal end outlet. The secondary lumen has a second cross-sectional area less than the first cross-sectional area, a second length less than the first length, and a distal end outlet terminating proximal of the main lumen distal outlet.

Ureteral access sheath

The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter. The catheter includes a conduit having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one aperture for receiving urine from the bladder. The catheter is contained within a sleeve having a length, a width, and a size configured to receive the catheter. According to one embodiment, the catheter and the sleeve may be arranged in a helical coil. The outer surface of the catheter may have a lubricious and/or an antimicrobial coating.

In one embodiment, an access sheath includes a sheath assembly including sheath tubing, the sheath tubing having a main lumen and a secondary lumen that extends along the length of the main lumen, the main lumen being large enough to receive an endoscope.

A stent is deployed within a body passageway. The stent is configured to curl a varying degree upon itself as the stent is inserted into the passageway depending on the size of the passageway. In this way a single size stent may be employed in different size passageways. The stent may have a generally rectangular shape or other shape. The stent may be made of one or more materials. For example, a spine of the stent may be made of a material different than a material used for the outer edges of the stent. The edges of the stent curl towards the spine during insertion into the passageway without any further manipulation of the stent or by application of any additional mechanical means. The stent may have a varying thickness and/or width along the longitudinal axis of the stent.
