A headlamp in which light source units are tilted about predetermined tilting center axes by means of an aiming mechanism interposed between a lamp body and the light source units. The aiming mechanism includes a tilting fulcrum (a ball and socket joint), aiming screws which are rotatably supported on the lamp body, and nut members which thread fit on the screws and mounted on the light source units movably in forward and backward in response to the rotations of the screws, so as to tilt the light source units about the tilting center axes. A leaf spring slide portion brought into elastic engagement with a guide groove is made of a polyacetal resin which is superior in resistance to wear. A nut member main body having a screw thread fitting portion is made of a nylon resin which is superior in resistance to heat. There is no permanent set on the slide portion and a slide contact surface does not wear, and no looseness is generated in the screw thread fitting portion of the nut member main body. An accurate optical axis adjustment can be ensured.

Automotive headlamp

A vehicle headlamp including a lamp body that has a concave portion with its front face opened, a front cover that covers the front opening of the lamp body, a reflector that is tiltably installed in the lamp body, a bulb that is installed in the reflector, and a cap-shaped shade installed so as to block the light emitted directly from the bulb and direct the light not to be irradiated. The reflector has an air ventilation hole which is formed in an area that is on the peripheral edge of a bulb mounting portion of the reflector and is on an inner side, when viewed from the front, of the outer edge of the shade.

Vehicle headlamp

A vehicle headlamp having a clear front lens, a light bulb and a shade that covers a forward portion of the light bulb. The shade is provided with a radiation opening and a shading portion; and the shading portion is formed so as to prevent the light rays emitted from the light bulb from radiating to the front of the light bulb through the radiation opening, thus preventing a glare light and decreasing the temperature of an area around the light bulb.

Vehicle lamp

A vehicle headlamp having a clear front lens, light bulb and a shade that covers a front portion of the light bulb, in which the shade has an octagonal cylindrical portion, and slits extending in the axial direction of the cylindrical portion are formed in the ridges formed by adjacent flat surfaces that constitute the octagonal cylindrical shape of the cylindrical portion, thus allowing heat generated by the light bulb to be released out of the shade, preventing a glare light.
