Image data compression method and apparatus which improves image quality in a scene where image greatly changes and reduces the image data, and image transmission system and monitoring system using the method and apparatus. The image data compression apparatus which compresses input image data and outputs compressed image data comprises a detection unit which detects a motion or change of each scene, a determination unit which determines the detected motion amount or change amount, a switch circuit which controls a frame rate in accordance with the results of determination, and a compression encoding unit which compression-encodes the image data. The apparatus performs control such that an image having small motion amount and small change amount with respect to a predetermined image is not compression-encoded, so that the frame rate in a scene where the motion or change is large is higher than that in a scene where the motion and change are small.

Conventionally, there is a description about stereophonically reproducing downloaded musical pieces or those stored on a memory card. A call speech is supported in monaural only. A realistic telephone call using stereo sound has been unavailable. The present invention aims at providing a cellular phone capable of a telephone call using stereo sound. The cellular phone terminal capable of speech communication with another information processing terminal. The cellular phone terminal is configured to comprise: a plurality of speakers for the speech communication; a receiver to receive a speech signal from a plurality of microphones of the other information processing terminal; and a processor to provide control so that the plurality of speakers can output the speech signal received by the receiver.

An image data expansion apparatus including a decoder for decoding compressed image data at a frame rate controlled to be lower in a scene where the change is small than that in a scene where the change is large; an expander for expanding the compressed image data decoded by the decoder, the input image data being reproduced such that the frame rate is lower in a scene where the change between images is small than the frame rate in a scene where the change between images is large; and an image interpolator for generating an interpolation image from the input predetermined compressed image data in accordance with the information on the frame rate outputted with the compression image data. An image copying system is disclosed which has a thermal head energized at a strobe current supply time rate corresponding to a current head temperature according to a preset strobe current supply time rate control characteristics. In copying operation at a standard speed, a read sensor 211 reads an image by performing N main scans in one sub scan. A signal processor 221 validates the image signal thus read once every N scans according to a selection signal from a mode control circuit 401. A record circuit 311 having a thermal head performs one main scan every sub scan. During a copying operation at a speed N times the standard speed, the sub scan speed is made N times and the read sensor 211 reads the image by performing one main scan every sub scan and the signal processor 221 makes the read image signal always valid by the selection signal. The record device 311 performs one main scan every sub scan. A single A/D converter is used for A/D converting head temperature as well as other output signal.

A data communication system by which simultaneous communication of voice and data is possible without disturbing voice communication. During communication between a first telephone and a second telephone through a telephone line, when a data signal from a computer is fed to a data communication system, the data signal is modulated according to a spread spectrum system by a spread spectrum modem, mixed with the voice signal, and transmitted from a line interface to the telephone line. The signal including the spread spectrum modulated data signal and the voice signal is received in the second telephone. The voice mixed with spread spectrum modulated data signal is heard at the second telephone with only slight noise. Thus, talking can continue undisturbed, because energy of the data signal is spread to a wider band.

Data communication apparatus and method for performing noiseless data

A voice/image simultaneous communication apparatus which can transmit image data while permitting talking with higher efficiency by encoding voice and synthesizing voice coded data and image data than by multiplexing frequencies. The voice/image simultaneous communication apparatus is constructed of a voice coder for coding an analog voice signal, a voice decoder for decoding the coded voice into an analog voice signal, a data synthesizer for synthesizing image coded data and voice coded data, a data separator for separating synthesized coded data into image coded data and voice coded data, and a modem capable of performing full duplex communication. The data synthesizer can change the ratio of synthesis between voice coded data and image coded data in accordance with the data transmission speed.

Voice/image simultaneous communication apparatus

This invention is so arranged that, in a dynamic random access memory including a display memory area storing therein the display data and a system memory area employed for arithmetic operation in a central processing unit, memory refresh is accomplished by a display address signal applied to the dynamic random access memory when information stored in the dynamic random access memory is utilized for display, and a refresh address signal from a refresh counter for generating such a refresh address signal is applied to the random access memory as a burst signal for a predetermined period at predetermined intervals during a display frame time, thus refreshing memory, when information stored in the dynamic random access memory is not utilized for display.
