A tuner module includes an input connector a tuner case, a circuit board, and an auxiliary piece. There is provided a recording medium exchanging-type recording and reproducing apparatus in which its small-sized forming can be realized, either reproducing or recording operation can be carried out within a short period of time, and it is advantageous in view of light weight forming or cost. The first and second magazines for storing the tape cartridge in such a way that the tape cartridge can be inserted into or taken out are spaced apart in a lateral direction in the casing so as to cause their longitudinal directions to become in parallel to each other, and there is provided a transferring space extending along a longitudinal direction of these first and second magazines. The moving mechanism holds the tape cartridge and moves up and down in the transferring space. The delivering mechanism delivers the tape cartridge between the first and second magazines and the moving mechanism. The moving mechanism performs installing of the tape cartridge against the recording and reproducing mechanism arranged at a location near the lower part of the transferring space.

Recording medium exchanging-type recording and reproducing apparatus

A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for recording and/or reproducing information signals with the use of a tape cassette having a pair of tape reels which are engaged on reel shafts of the apparatus includes a tape cassette transfer mechanism for shifting the tape cassette inserted by way of a cassette insertion opening in a first direction normal to the reel shafts and then parallel to the reel shafts to place the pair of tape reels within the tape cassette on the shafts. The apparatus includes a drive arrangement having a single motor that drives both a cassette transfer arrangement and a movable tape loading control arrangement which is disposed in the apparatus for extracting a portion of the tape of the cassette and guiding an extracted portion of the tape along a predetermined path.

A disk cartridge includes a plate made of a metallic substance held on a counter chucking side of a flange formed in a center portion of a disk. The magnetic plate is housed inside a disk cartridge and has a height set at a dimension greater than the shortest axial dimension between a portion of the cartridge casing opposite the counter chucking surface of the flange and the facing surface of the disk.

A recording and/or reproducing apparatus for recording and/or reproducing information signals with the use of a tape cassette is provided with a pair of reel shafts, each having an engaging member mounted with a bias towards the end of the supporting shaft, and a tape cassette transfer mechanism adapted for shifting the tape cassette inserted by way of the cassette inserting opening in a first direction normal to the reel shafts and guiding or loading the tape cassette for inserting and engaging the reel shafts with a pair of tape reels within the tape cassette. When at least the tape cassette transfer mechanism is set at a position facing the cassette inserting opening, the tape cassette transfer mechanism abuts an end of each of the reel engaging members to shift the members to a retracted position while the tape cassette is moved by the tape cassette transfer mechanism towards the proximal side of the reel shafts, to reduce the displacement in the second direction of the tape reel of the tape cassette by the tape cassette transfer mechanism to a value less than the thickness of the tape cassette to reduce the thickness of the apparatus. After completion of the tape cassette loading by the tape cassette transfer mechanism, the tape cassette is partially exposed to the cassette inserting opening to prevent a second tape cassette from being introduced into the cassette inserting opening after completion of loading of the first-mentioned cassette.

In a disk cartridge for charging therein a plurality of disks so that the disks are stacked therein, slide tabs for removing a desired disk are slidably provided along disk discharge and charge directions, and click engaging portions for temporarily locking the slide tabs at a predetermined positions along a sliding direction are offset by a predetermined amount along the sliding direction between the stages so as not to be aligned vertically along disk storage stages, thereby reducing a load of a drive mechanism for aligning the slide tabs at the side of the apparatus body.

A disc player fitted for automatic change of discs comprises a disc pack receiving table for receiving and holding a disc pack containing a plurality of discs, a disc rotating device for rotating a disc taken out from the disc pack and loaded thereon, and a movable chassis operative to move up and down in relation to the disc pack receiving table and provided with a mechanical arrangement comprising a sliding lever for actuating a sliding member provided in the disc pack to take a selected disc out of the disc pack, a motor for rotating selectively in the clockwise and counterclockwise directions, a driving roller for being rotated with the rotatory driving force produced by the motor to carry the selected disc taken out from the disc pack to the disc rotating device, and a driving mechanism actuated with the rotatory driving force produced by the motor for driving the sliding lever in the manner for taking a disc out of the disc pack when the motor rotates in one of the clockwise and counterclockwise directions and for driving the sliding lever to put back the same when the motor rotates in the other of the clockwise and counterclockwise directions.
