An object to be achieved by the present invention is to provide a method for producing an artificial leather on a practically usable level without using an organic solvent and without requiring a crosslinking step for a crosslinking agent. The present invention provides a method for producing an artificial leather having a cured product layer of a moisture-curing urethane hot-melt resin composition, wherein the moisture-curing urethane hot-melt resin composition contains a urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate group and does not contain a crosslinking agent having a hydroxyl group and/or an amino group, the method including applying the moisture-curing urethane hot-melt resin composition to a substrate at a coating weight of 0.03 to 0.5 kg/mso as to form a cured product layer of the moisture-curing urethane hot-melt resin composition.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition having excellent waterproof properties, drop impact resistance, and flexibility. The present invention provides a moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition containing a urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate group, the urethane prepolymer being produced through a reaction of a polyol (A) with a polyisocyanate (B), wherein the polyol (A) contains a polyether polyol (A-1), a crystalline polyester polyol (A-2), an amorphous polyester polyol (A-3), and an acrylic polyol (A-4). The present invention also provides an adhesive containing such a composition and an article in which such a composition is used.

An object to be achieved by the present invention is to provide a bookbinding adhesive which is excellent in high-speed application properties, cutting properties, book opening properties, and bookbinding strength. The present invention is directed to a bookbinding adhesive characterized by having a melt viscosity in the range of from 1,000 to 10,000 mPa&#xb7;s, as measured at 120&#xb0; C. by means of a cone plate viscometer, exhibiting a JIS A hardness of 20 or more, as measured with respect to the adhesive which is applied and allowed to stand for 30 minutes, in an atmosphere at 23&#xb0; C., and exhibiting a JIS A hardness of 95 or less, as measured with respect to the adhesive which is applied and allowed to stand for 30 minutes, in an atmosphere at 23&#xb0; C., and is then allowed to stand in an atmosphere at 23&#xb0; C. and at a humidity of 50% for one week, wherein a cured film of the adhesive has an upper yield stress of 7 MPa or less. The bookbinding adhesive is preferably a moisture-curing polyurethane hot-melt adhesive containing an urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate group which is obtained by reacting a polyol (A), which contains a crystalline polyester polyol (a-1) and a polyether polyol (a-2), with a polyisocyanate (B).

Bookbinding adhesive

An object of the present invention is to provide a moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition with superior properties such as water resistance, fast-curing properties, and flexibility. The present invention provides a moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition containing an isocyanate-containing urethane prepolymer (i) that is a reaction product of polyols (A) including a polyether polyol (A-1), a crystalline polyester polyol (A-2), an amorphous polyester polyol (A-3), and an acrylic polyol (A-4) with a polyisocyanate (B); and a curing catalyst (ii) represented by general formula (1) below, and also provides an adhesive and article produced using the resin composition. The adhesive produced using the moisture-curable polyurethane hot-melt resin composition according to the present invention is suitable not only for the bonding of fibers and the lamination of construction materials, but also for the lamination of optical elements.

A method for coating a substrate and a coating device used therein that can smoothly form an adhesive layer on the surface of a substrate without roughening, is provided which do not require a drying process and is free of various problems such as sick house syndrome stemming from use of organic solvents. In addition, a method of producing a laminated object using the coating method and the laminated object obtained thereby are provided. In the method for coating a substrate to form an adhesive layer on one surface of the substrate, while the substrate is being conveyed by applying a hot melt adhesive in a melted state via a rotating applicator roller, with the direction of rotation of the applicator roller and the direction of conveying the substrate being the same, adhesive is applied to the substrate while slipping the applicator roller by setting the circumferential speed of the applicator roller to be at least 20% slower or at least 20% faster than the predetermined speed at which the substrate is conveyed.
