An oil burner is of the type which enables controlling a degree of burning and performing fire extinguishing by vertically moving a wick. The invention is directed to restricting the control of burning within a range of normal combustion, removing the restriction to manually perform fire extinguishing, and automatically performing fire extinguishing when vibrations are sensed by a vibration sensor. The oil burner includes a slide shaft mounted on a wick shaft and a rotary member mounted on the wick shaft and enabling moving when axially pushed by the slide shaft. The rotary member is interlocked with the wick shaft by an actuation member provided on the wick shaft, and is provided with a stop member which stops the wick shaft at a predetermined position in rotating in a wick lowering direction. The rotary member is biased in the wick lowering direction by a spring which conserves resilience when the wick is elevated by operating the wick shaft, and is locked by a lock member in rotating in the wick lowering direction. The locking of the rotary member by the lock member can be released when vibrations are sensed by a vibration sensor.

Oil burner

The disclosure is directed to a wick holder apparatus for a kerosene heater including a cylindrical guide wick tube erected on the bottom portion of an oil tank, a cylindrical outer wick tube disposed around the guide wick tube and a cylindrical wick concentrically disposed for vertical movements in an annular gap between the guide wick tube and the outer wick tube, and characterized in that there are further provided a wick holding tube releasably attached to the wick for movement in one unit, and a wick moving tube provided for vertical movement in the oil tank and releasably engaged with the wick holding tube, with the wick holding tube being provided with resilient engaging pieces which are engageable with corresponding engaging holes or apertures formed in the wick moving tube through rotation of the wick holding tube for facilitation of attaching or detaching of the wick.

Wick holder apparatus for kerosene heater

This invention relates to a heating apparatus such as an oil heater, a gas heater or an electric heater generating heat and light, and to provide an arrangement such that at least a part of periphery of a heat source of the heating apparatus is covered with a netlike member and the netlike member is arranged to be wrapped therearound so that the meshes of the net apparently overlap each other at the front and rear sides of the heat source, thus improving both heating and illuminating effects.
