A thermal transfer material applied with a cyan die which has features of improved thermal diffusibility, thermal resistance, and hue, is disclosed. The dye is represented by the following formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents substituents; A and A' represent each an aryl group; X represents a hydroxyl group or --N(R)R' in which R and R' represent each an alkyl group allowable to have a substituent.

Significant improvement in color reproduction can be achieved by a direct positive silver halide color photographic material having at least one each of a blue-sensitive, green-sensitive and a red-sensitive direct positive silver halide emulsion layer, in which material at least one of said direct positive silver halide emulsion layer contains both silver chloride or a silver halide composed of silver chlorobromide or silver chloroiodobromide containing no less than 50 mol % of AgCl, and a specific compound that is capable of reacting with the oxidation product of a developing agent to release a specific compound capable of scavenging said oxidation product or a precursor of said scavenging compound.

Direct positive silver halide photographic material

A novel organic non-linear optical material and a device using the same are disclosed. The material hardly makes reversal symmetrical molecular configuration in a bulk state such as a crystal and a thin layer and shows a high non-linear optical effect. A non-linear optical device using the material has an excellent properties. The organic non-linear optical material is comprised of the following compound: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently a hydrogen atom, a cyano group, a phenyl group, an amino group, an alkoxy group, an acylamino group, an alkylthio group, an alkyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group, carbamoyl group or a heterocyclic group, provided that R.sub.3 is allowed to link together with R.sub.4 to form a ring and R.sub.1, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are not hydrogen atom at the same time; R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an acyl group; and said groups represented by R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and the ring formed by linking the groups represented by R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are allowed to have a substituent.

Non-linear optical material and non-linear optical device employing it

A heat developable color photosensitive material capable of forming color images in a heat development, more particularly, capable of obtaining heat developable color diffusion transfer images substantially high in a maximum density. The heat developable color photosensitive material contains at least two photosensitive layers which are different from each other in color sensitivity and a non-photosensitive interlayer containing particles interposed between the photosensitive layers.

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which contains a novel yellow coupler in its silver halide emulsion layer. A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing a novel cyan coupler is disclosed. The cyan coupler is represented by the following Formula I: ##STR1## wherein A represents an organic group; X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of splitting off upon a reaction with an oxidation product of a color developing agent; Z represents the group of atoms capable of forming a five or six-membered heterocyclic ring together with carbon and nitrogen atoms; Y represents a linkage group; and R represents a hydrogen atom or an organic group.

Silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing a novel

A silver halide photographic light sensitive material is disclosed, which is contains a novel cyan coupler excellent in spectral absorption, absorption coefficient and fastness. The cyan coupler is represented by the following Formula I; ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent a substituent; R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, a --COR.sub.4 group, a --COOR.sub.4 group, a ##STR2## group, an --SO.sub.2 R.sub.4 or an ##STR3## group in which R.sub.4 represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group, R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being split off upon reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent; m represent an integer of from 0 to 4; and n represents an integer of from 0 to 5.

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which has a silver halide emulsion layer containing a novel cyan coupler represented by the following Formula I: ##STR1## wherein B is an organic group comprising a carbon atom, nitrogen atom, oxygen atom or sulfur atom directly bonded to the imidazole ring; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each are a substituent; m is an integer of 0 to 4, n is an integer of 0 to 5, provided that the R.sub.1 S or R.sub.2 S each may be the same with or different from each other when m or n is 2 or more; and X is a group capable of being split off upon coupling reaction with the oxidation product of a color developing agent.

Silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing novel

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing a novel magenta dye-forming coupler. The coupler is represented by the following Formula I: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a substituent; R.sub.2 is a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic group or a substituted or unsubstituted amino group; provided, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are allowed to bond together so as to complete a ring; Z is a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being split off upon coupling reaction with the oxidized product of a an aromatic primary amine developing agent; and EWG is an electron attractive group having a Hammet's .sigma. p value of more than 0.3. The photographic material has excellent color reproducibility and improved in color forming efficiency and graininess of images.

A silver halide light-sensitive color photographic material which comprises a coupler represented by formula [I]; ##STR1## wherein A represents a coupler residue that is capable of releasing the remaining group of said coupler upon reaction with an oxidation product of a developing agent; L represents a timing group which is capable of releasing the rest of the group after said remaining group being released from A; n represents 0 or 1; X represents an oxygen or sulfur atom; Y represents a --NHSO.sub.2 R.sub.1 ' group, a ##STR2## group or a --NHCOR.sub.1 ' group, in which formulas R.sub.1 ' and R.sub.2 ' independently represent a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently represent a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group; R.sub.3 represents a substituent group; m represents 0, 1 or 2, provided that when m is 2, two R.sub.3 s may be different, and that two of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 or two of R.sub.1 ', R.sub.2 ' and R.sub.3 ' may be divalent groups to form a ring structure.

Silver halide light-sensitive color photographic material

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed which comprises a silver halide emulsion layer containing a novel cyan dye-forming coupler. The photographic material is improved in color reproducibility of color images formed thereon. The heat-transfer image receiving element renders a dye image formed in the color heat-diffusion transfer process stable particularly under a light irradiation condition and excellent in stability against discoloration by light and heat.

There is disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material containing novel cyan coupler which comprises a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material having at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support, characterized in that at least one layer of the silver halide emulsion layer contains at least one cyan coupler represented by the formula (I) shown below: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent an alkyl group, an aryl group, a heterocyclic group, a dialkylamino group, an anilino group, an alkoxy group or an arloxy group; R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, A R.sub.5 CO--group or a R.sub.5 SO.sub.2 --group; provided that R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 cannot be hydrogen atoms at the same time; R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an aryl group, a dialkylamino group, an anilino group, an alkoxy group or an aryloxy group; and X represents a hydrogen atom or an eliminatable group through the reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent.

Light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material containing

A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material containing a novel cyan dye forming coupler is disclosed. The cyan dye forming coupler is represented by the following formula. ##STR1## In the formula R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each a substituent, and X is a group capable of being splitted off from the coupler residue upon reaction of the coupler residue with the oxydized product of a color developing agent; and the total number of carbon atoms contained in the groups represented by R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and X is from 8 to 50. The spectral absorption characteristics of cyan dye images formed by the coupler of the invention are so sharp and steep that color reproduction can be achieved very advantageously.

Silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material improved in

A diphenylimidazole type cyan dye represented by the following Formula [I] or [II] is disclosed. The dye is capable of displaying relatively more preferable absorption characteristics so as to serve as a cyan dye, and suitable to be use in photographic, thermal transfer, ink-jet, printing or other printing media. ##STR1##
