Customizable electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) systems may be utilized for charging electrified vehicles. Exemplary EVSE systems may include a charging cord assembly having a cable that includes an outer sheath and a lighting module housed within the outer sheath. The lighting module may be controlled to emit lighting effects for providing visual indications of various electrified vehicle charging statuses. Settings associated with the lighting effects may be customized within a human machine interface (HMI) of the EVSE system.

Customizable electric vehicle supply equipment systems

A vehicle includes control pilot circuitry connected with a charge port and including a control pilot line, a resistor, and a switch that selectively connects the resistor between the control pilot line and a ground of electric vehicle supply equipment plugged into the charge port. The vehicle also includes a controller that toggles the switch between open and closed states after receiving an off-board request defining a number of toggles for the switch.

Vehicle-electric vehicle supply equipment connection confirmation

A system and method for providing electric power take-off from a high-voltage electric battery to a plurality of external devices includes: receiving a first request from a first external device having a first priority for a supply of power from an electric power take-off connector at a first voltage, a first current, and a first variance tolerance; receiving a second request from a second external device having a second priority for supply of power at a second voltage, a second current, and a second variance tolerance; and assigning available power from the high-voltage battery, via a high voltage (HV) variable direct-current to direct-current (DCDC) converter and a current regulator in electrical communication with the high-voltage battery, to the first and second external devices based upon their respective priorities and variance tolerances.

Electric power take-off

A charge system for a vehicle includes a traction battery and a controller. The controller, responsive to passage of a predetermined period of time following activation of the vehicle without detecting a wake up signal, sets a diagnostic flag. The controller further, responsive to deactivation of the vehicle, presence of the diagnostic flag, and presence of a request designating a future start time for a charge event of the traction battery, initiates the charge event regardless of the future start time. The controller may further, responsive to deactivation of the vehicle, absence of the diagnostic flag, and presence of the request designating the future start time for the charge event of the traction battery, inhibit start of the charge event until the future start time.

Scheduled automotive battery charge default to now

A vehicle includes a plurality of controllers. During a key-off mode, a master controller may maintain operation of a predetermined set of controllers by broadcasting a power sustain request on a communication bus. Responsive to a loss of communication for a time exceeding a predetermined amount of time with one or more of the predetermined set of controllers, the master controller may be programmed to stop broadcasting the power sustain request to cause the predetermined set of controllers to power down.

Missing receiver power sustain deactivation

A vehicle control system may, during a deactivated state of the vehicle, generate a wake up signal, and responsive to a current or voltage associated with the wake up signal being outside a predetermined range, activate an ignition relay of the vehicle for a predefined period of time. The vehicle control system may further, responsive to a request to activate the vehicle, activate the ignition relay.

Default charging of automotive battery while parked

A charge port illumination system includes, among other things, a first charge port assembly having a charge port, a courtesy lamp assembly configured to selectively activate to illuminate the charge port, and indicators each configured to selectively activate to illuminate and indicate a state of charge of a traction battery. The system further includes a microcontroller that selectively activates the courtesy lamp assembly and selectively activates the plurality of indicators of the first charge port assembly.

This disclosure relates to selective illumination of charging port status indicators for an electrified vehicle. An example electrified vehicle includes a charging port configured to couple to a plug, a charging port status indicator configured to selectively illuminate to indicate a charging status of the charging port, and a controller configured to instruct the charging port status indicator to illuminate when data is transmitted via the charging port. A method is also disclosed.

Selective illumination of charging port status indicators for an electrified vehicle

A vehicle includes an electrical port configured to transfer electricity between a vehicle battery and a charge station, the port including indicia viewable by operators of the port. The vehicle includes a controller configured to operate the indicia to flicker at a frequency that is proportional to a throughput level of a charge. The operation is responsive to receiving the charge.
