A wireless device such as a user equipment (UE) may receive a first signal over first resources assigned to carry a first downlink transmission from a base station, and receive a first downlink control indication (DCI) message from the base station. The first DCI message may include a pre-emption region (PR) indication and a PR bitmap, and the PR indication may indicate a location of a time-frequency region. The PR bitmap may include bits associated with different portions of the time-frequency region, and each of the bits in the PR bitmap may indicate whether a preemptive downlink transmission is present in the corresponding portion of the time-frequency region.

System and method for enabling reliable and low latency communication

A method for uplink transmission by a UE includes obtaining information regarding a plurality of power control sets each having a plurality of power control parameters, wherein a value of at least one parameter in a first power control set is different from a value of the at least one parameter in a second power control set; obtaining information associating at least one of the power control sets with at least one operational property of the UE; and when at least one of the operational properties is in effect on the UE, transmitting a PUSCH using the parameters of the power control set associated with the at least one operational property in effect.

A method for scheduling a downlink transmission is provided. The method includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), downlink control information (DCI) from a base station, the DCI indicating a location of a transmission duration within a subframe, the location of the transmission duration including a start position of the transmission duration and a length of the transmission duration, the length of the transmission duration being 2, 4, or 7 symbols. The method further includes receiving downlink data from the base station, the downlink data carried by the transmission duration at the location indicated by the DCI.

Aspects of the disclosure pertain to systems and methods for multiplexing of low latency and latency tolerant communications. When low latency traffic pre-empts latency tolerant traffic in a first interval, the pre-empted low latency traffic can be transmitted in a subsequent interval. There are multiple designs disclosed for notifying UE that are affected by the pre-emption events. The various designs include implicit or explicit notification that can be semi-static or dynamic. Examples of the notification include notification of that a pre-emption event occurs, notification of the location of the pre-emption event, notification of whether a supplementary transmission will occur and notification of the location of the supplementary transmission.

The OFDM-based signal has a number of sub-bands, and employs a respective numerology in each sub-band. Each numerology has a respective subcarrier spacing and OFDM symbol duration. For a given receiver, content is mapped to resource blocks within an assigned one of the sub-bands, using the sub-carrier spacing of the sub-band.

A system and method for multiplexing traffic. A wireless device such as a base station may schedule a first transmission of first data (e.g., latency tolerant data) to a first UE on first resources, and transmit second data (e.g., low latency data) to a second UE on a portion of the first resources. The base station may signal a first indicator e.g. via Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling to the first UE indicating that the first UE is to monitor for a second indicator that itself indicates the presence of second data on the first resources. The base station may then signal a second indicator to the first UE to indicate the presence of the second data on the first resources. By using the first indicator to initiate the monitoring of the second indicator, the first UE can reduce the amount of monitoring it needs to perform if there is no second data traffic in a certain period of time or in a certain frequency band.
