A cuff closure comprising a flap having one end attached to the cuff and a free end, a longitudinal slit in the cuff adjacent to the attached end of the flap, a flap fastener component on the flap, a first surface fastener component on the first surface of the cuff that mates with the flap fastener component, and a second surface fastener component on the second surface of said cuff that mates with the flap fastener component. When the first surface is the outside surface, the flap fastener component mates with the first surface fastener component and, when the second surface is the outside surface, the flap fastener component mates with the second surface fastener component.

Cuff closure for reversible garments

A band that extends around a garment appendage, such as a sleeve or trouser leg. The band has a concealed position that hides a reflective tape and a deployed position where the reflective tape is visible. The band includes a strip that encircles and is attached to the garment appendage at a distance from the free end of the garment appendage. The reflective tape is bonded to the underside of the strip or to the garment appendage.

Concealable/deployable reflective band for garments

A band that extends around a garment appendage, such as a sleeve or trouser leg. The band has a concealed position that hides a reflective tape and a deployed position where the reflective tape is visible. The band includes a cylindrical strip that fully encircles and is attached to the garment appendage at a distance from the free end of the garment appendage. The reflective tape is bonded to the underside of the strip or to the garment appendage.

A reversible raincoat or rain jacket is constructed from a plurality of panels of specialized fabric, which are joined by threaded seams and which alternatively present either a dress mode exterior or a protective mode exterior. The specialized fabric is composed of a dress weave facing, a high visibility knit facing and an interstice therebetween. The interstice consists essentially of a vapor permeable membrane. The seams are sealed at the knit facing, along the threaded seams and along borders of the panels, by tape which matches the knit facing fabric in appearance. Both faces of the fabric are infused with a water repellant treatment.

Lightweight protective clothing and textile material incorporated therein

A light weight, high visibility garment is intended to be worn over regular or service clothing. This garment comprises: a front panel and a back panel that extend from the neck to the hips or waist; mating fastener arrangements at the shoulders and hips detachably connecting the front and back panels; and front and rear retro-reflective bands spanning the front and the back panels. Preferably, the mating fastener arrangements at each of the shoulders include a front arrangement that is affixed to the upper edge of the front panel and a rear arrangement that is affixed to an upper edge of the back panel. When one or both of the panels are grasped and pulled, the mating fastener arrangements separate, thereby freeing the front and back panels from each other and from the wearers body.

High visibility clothing construction

A detachable lining for outerwear comprises a bodice, which includes an inner substantially full layer composed of a relatively rough fabric, an outer substantially full layer composed of a relatively smooth fabric, and an overlay partial layer composed of a relatively smooth fabric. The partial layer is superposed on the inner layer at an upper region of the bodice. The inner layer and outer layer are quilted together for enhancing dimensional stability and preventing bunching. The overlay partial layer has a relatively low coefficient of friction for encouraging sliding and preventing catching.

Crumple resistant lining and outerwear for use therewith

A light weight, high visibility vest, is intended to be worn over regular or service clothing. This vest comprises: a front panel and a back panel that extend from the neck to the hips or waist; mating fastener arrangements at the shoulders and hips detachably connecting the front and back panels; and front and rear retro-reflective bands spanning the front and the back panels. A well styled, single layer shell jacket is resistant to inclement conditions, yet possesses the various characteristics of conventionally comfortable clothing, and permits the stitching of emblems thereon without impairing waterproof and windproof characteristics. Superposed on the waterproof and windproof fabric of each sleeve and forming a pocket thereon is a patch. In the patch is a zipper or other closure. This closure, when opened, permits entry into the pocket and sewing of an emblem or the like on the packet without affecting the waterproof and windproof construction of the remainder of the jacket.

Single layer jacket with detachable liner

A well styled, single layer shell jacket is resistant to inclement conditions, yet possesses the various characteristics of conventionally comfortable clothing, and permits the stitching of emblems thereon without impairing waterproof and windproof characteristics. Optionally, a liner is attachable to the interior of the jacket without disturbing the functionality of the shell jacket. Superposed on the waterproof and windproof fabric of each sleeve and forming a pocket thereon is a superposed upper patch, which appears to be a continuation of the yoke and the edges of which are joined to the sleeve by seams of stitching. In the patch is a zipper or other closure. This closure, when opened, permits entry into the pocket and sewing of an emblem or the like on the patch without affecting the waterproof and windproof construction of the remainder to the jacket.

A seam of stitching joins each pair of the contiguous edges of adjacent sections of this jacket. Superposed on the waterproof and windproof fabric of each sleeve and forming a pocket thereon is a superposed upper patch, which appears to be a continuation of the yoke and the edges of which are joined to the sleeve by seams of stitching. In the patch is a zipper or other closure. This closure, when opened, permits entry into the pocket and sewing of an emblem or the like on the patch without affecting the waterproof and windproof construction of the remainder to the jacket. This closure, when closed, permits easy access to gloves, eye wear, medicines, or other items stored in the pocket. The opposed bands that carry the mating elements of each zipper, are composed of a waterproof plastic, and are fastened in position by lines of stitching. Waterproofing strips of thermoplastic tape seal all of the aforementioned lines of stitching.

Unlined waterproof clothing

A reversible sweater has a pair of contiguous configurations, one composed of a knit fabric and the other composed of a micro-fiber fabric. A wearer may select which side of the reversible sweater to wear outside and/or inside. If the knit side is worn outside, the sweater (1) has a conventional appearance, but (2) provides warmth which is a function of the knit configuration, and wind resistance, water resistance and vapor permeability, all of which are functions of the micro-fiber configuration. If the micro-fiber configuration is worn outside, (1) the sweater has a fluorescent and retro-reflective appearance, but provides (2) warmth which is a function of the knit configuration, and (3) wind resistance, water resistance and vapor permeability, all of which are functions of the micro-fiber configuration.
