An actuating assembly () for a wire steered device () provided with at least one steering wire (). The actuating assembly () includes a body () for mounting the wire steered device (), an axle () mounted to the body, a wheel () mounted to the axle and including a wire attachment () for attaching the steering wire () thereto with the steering wire () wound around at least part of the wheel (), and an actuator () for selectively rotating the axle (). The wheel () is movable between configurations in which the wheel () is either rotatable about the axle () or fixed in rotation relative to the axle ().

Actuator for wire steered device

A system using a guide to assist in insertion of a helicoidal member in a target biological tissue. The system adheres to tissues using suction to allow insertion of the helicoidal member.

Surgical method and system for performing the same

A system for driving an helical anchor into biological tissue including concentric inner and outer drivers defining a driver passageway therebetween for mounting the helical anchor thereinto, the inner and outer drivers being axially rotatable and longitudinally fixed relative to each other. The inner driver includes a protrusion protruding in the driver passageway and configured for engaging the helical anchor to prevent pure translation of the anchor along the inner driver while allowing helical movements of the helical anchor relative to the inner driver. The outer driver is includes a slot extending therealong from an outer driver distal end towards an outer driver proximal end, the slot receiving the anchor protrusion thereinto and allowing movements of the anchor protrusion therealong. An actuator selectively rotates the inner and outer driver relatively to each other.

Helical anchor driving system

A method using a guide to assist in insertion of a helicoidal member in a target biological tissue. The method includes abutting a substantially longitudinally extending portion of the guide against a target tissue exposed surface with the helicoidal member mounted thereto so that at least a portion of the guide is inserted in a helicoidal member passageway substantially parallel to a helicoidal member longitudinal axis of the helicoidal member; adhering the substantially longitudinally extending portion of the guide to the target tissue exposed surface with the helicoidal member longitudinal axis substantially parallel to the target tissue exposed surface; and advancing the helicoidal member in the target biological tissue in a substantially helicoidal movement with the guide remaining substantially fixed relative to the target biological tissue.

A method for manufacturing an implantable medical device, the method including the steps of: (a) providing in a vapor deposition chamber a substrate including a substrate material, an anodic source made of an anodic material, and a cathodic source made of a cathodic material, the anodic and cathodic materials forming a galvanic couple; (b) operating the vapor deposition chamber to vaporize simultaneously the anodic and cathodic materials from the anodic and cathodic sources and depositing the vaporized cathodic and anodic materials on the substrate to produce a coated substrate including the substrate material coated by a bioresorbable coating; and (c) obtaining the implantable medical device from the coated substrate. Also, a stent, a medical device and a bioresorbable material obtained with vapor deposition of materials forming a galvanic couple.

A system () including an helicoidal member (); an elongated guide () positionable at least partially through the helicoidal member () along the longitudinal axis of helicoidal member (), the guide () defining a longitudinally extending peripheral surface cooled portion (); a cooling subsystem () for cooling the peripheral surface cooled portion (); and a driver () for mounting the helicoidal member () thereto and rotating the helicoidal member () along the helicoidal member longitudinal axis while allowing the helicoidal member () to advance along the guide () in a distally oriented direction.

A device for supporting soft tissue includes a tubular body and is constituted of a sequence of compliant portions and anchoring portions. The anchoring portions each include anchor members adapted to penetrate into soft tissue. The compliant portions each include deformable members extending between ends of the compliant portion, at least one of a distance and orientation between said ends being adjustable by application of a force on the tubular body. The tubular body includes a ring-like shape reached at least by deformation of the compliant portions, the ring-like shape having the anchor members of the anchoring portions protruding circumferentially along a direction defined by a vector having a component being at least tangential to the curve of the ring-like shape, for the anchor members to penetrate the soft tissue. A method for anchoring the device to soft tissue is also provided.

A movement sensor and an effective portion including an anchor implanting mechanism are mounted to the instrument body in the instrument distal end section in a predetermined positional relationship relative to each other. Instrument including a movement sensor for determining the position of an anchoring mechanism

An instrument positionable with respect to a body valve in the body of a living subject for performing a predetermined procedure on the living subject at a predetermined location relative to the body valve. The instrument includes: a movement sensor for sensing movements of the body valve; an effective portion for performing the predetermined procedure when the effective portion is at the predetermined location; and an effective portion positioner for positioning the effective portion in the living subject. The effective portion is positionable using the effective portion positioner in response to the movements sensed by the movement sensor for positioning the effective portion at the predetermined location in order to perform the predetermined procedure.
