A monitoring system includes a real-time detection device configured to detect a state of target equipment and an instruction output from a central control device configured to input a control instruction to the target equipment; and a monitoring device configured to acquire information from the real-time detection device. The monitoring device includes an analysis unit configured to simulate the state of the target equipment, with models of the target equipment and the central control device, and a determination unit configured to determine whether an abnormality has occurred in the target equipment. The analysis unit is configured to simulate the state of the target equipment, using the latest information detected by the real-time detection device. The determination unit is configured to compare a result calculated by the analysis unit using the latest information detected by the real-time detection device.

Monitoring system

An intrusion prevention device includes a reception unit, a monitoring unit, and a determination unit. The reception unit receives, from a control target device, a notification indicating a state of the control target device. The monitoring unit receives a control command transmitted from a control device to the control target device. The determination unit determines whether to permit or block passage of the control command received by the monitoring unit in accordance with the state of the control target device received by the reception unit.

An image forming apparatus includes an image transfer belt; a first transfer member; a second transfer member opposed to the first transfer member with the belt therebetween; an applying device for applying a voltage to at least one of the first and second transfer members; and a controller for controlling the applying device to apply to the at least one transfer member a voltage having the same polarity as a regular polarity of toner and a voltage of the opposite polarity to the first transfer member in a cleaning operation. A developing device includes a developing container, a developing sleeve, a magnet and grooves provided at a surface of the sleeve and formed along a direction crossing a circumferential direction of the sleeve. In a cross-section, each of the grooves is formed by a flat bottom portion contacting a carrier particle and a pair of side surface portions provided in both sides of the flat bottom portion with respect to the circumferential direction of the sleeve and satisfies the following relationship:&#x3c;22&#xd7;, and/2&#x2264;&#x3c;2 In the above, r is a volume-average particle size of the carrier particles, w is a length of the flat bottom portion, L is a width between the side surface portions at the surface of the sleeve, and s is a depth of each of the grooves.

Developing device

In the present invention, an image forming apparatus using a method of replacing a developer is configured such that an immobile area in which the heights of a discharge passage and a conveyance passage are changed on the upstream side of a returning screw is filled. This causes the immobile area of the developer to be unlikely to occur and accordingly suppresses formation of a toner stain image due to an aggregation toner, enabling stable image formation over a long period of time.

When ending image forming, a state is realized where charging by a charging roller is stopped (charging bias off) and also applying DC voltage at a developing device is stopped (developing bias DC off).
