Disclosed is a substrate for mounting light emitting element with a high positional accuracy and a method of fixing the substrate. A substrate for mounting light emitting element defines a first recess and a second recess in first side in a plan view. The first recess is defined by two corner portions and a straight portion which connects the two corner portions, and the second recess further includes at least two straight portions each narrowing toward the inner end portion.

A light emitting device includes a substrate; a first metal film formed on the substrate; a plurality of light emitting elements arranged in a line, each comprising a second metal film on a lower face thereof, each having a quadrilateral outline; and a die bond placed between the first metal film and the second metal films to fix the second metal film on the first metal film. The substrate includes low wettability areas having wettability to the die bond lower than the first metal film. Each of the low wettability areas is disposed between two of the light emitting elements, and each of four sides of the quadrilateral outline is adjacent to the low wettability area different from the low wettability areas adjacent to one of the other three sides.

Light emitting device for linear light source

A light emitting device includes: a substrate; a first metal film formed on the substrate; quadrilateral light emitting elements arranged in a line at an interval d, with second metal films on lower faces, and a die bond fixes the first and second metal films together. A diagonal of the respective quadrilateral outlines of the light emitting elements is aligned with the line. One of a distance Dfrom a light emitting element on one end among the light emitting elements arranged in the line to an end of the substrate, and a distance Dfrom a light emitting element on the other end among the light emitting elements arranged in the line to an end of the substrate is equal to or shorter than the interval d.

A wavelength tunable light source equipment provided with an external resonator light source having a wavelength selection structure inside it and lasing by a wavelength selected by this and a light path changer introducing at least part of the light emitted from the external resonator light source and including a spontaneous emitted light ingredient to the wavelength selection structure so that a wavelength of the light emitted from the external resonator light source and a wavelength selected by the wavelength selection structure become synchronized. Of the light emitted from the external resonator light source, the light introduced to the wavelength selection structure through the light path changer and emitted from it is made the output light. Due to this configuration, it is possible to reduce the resonator loss of the external resonator light source to stabilize the oscillation in the laser resonator, increase the intensity of the output light with the suppressed spontaneous emitted light ingredient, and finely adjust and freely change the relationship between the intensity of the output light including the spontaneous emitted light ingredient and the intensity of the output light with the suppressed spontaneous emitted light ingredient.
