A first proton-donating layer () is a layer having a proton-donative functional group on the surface, for example, a silicon oxide layer. A second proton-donating layer () is also a layer having a proton-donative functional group on the surface, for example, a silicon oxide layer. Negative surface charges are formed on the main surface section of a first base () and the main surface section of a second base (), and these negative charges increased the proton conductivity in an aqueous solution fed to a nano channel. Although, in the aqueous solution, proton migration through hopping between water molecules contributes to its diffusion, the negative charges formed on the main surfaces of the bases () attract protons in the aqueous solution, and the conduction of protons is efficiently achieved in 'high-speed transfer regions' formed in the vicinity of the proton-donating layers ().

In a gyro sensor, two detection weights are placed in an outer drive weight to be arranged in an x-axis direction and coupled to each other via a coupling spring. By thus coupling the two detection weights via the coupling spring, it is possible to separate an in-phase-mode resonant frequency fin and an anti-phase-mode resonant frequency fanti from each other. As a result, it is possible to provide the gyro sensor which can suppress an output error on receiving an impact and perform more precise angular velocity detection.

An angular velocity sensor for detecting an angular velocity includes a substrate having the stationary portion, two pair of driver weights, two detector weights, and a detector electrode. The angular velocity is detected by using a differential signal output indicating a variation in capacitances. When the absolute value of a de-coupling ratio (=(fanti&#x2212;fin)/fanti) is greater than or equal to 0.07, the occurrence of the anti-phase mode movement can be prevented so as to prevent the occurrence of the output error of the gyro sensor and detect the angular velocity more precisely.

Angular velocity sensor

A capacitive device includes a substrate, a movable electrode, and a fixed electrode. The movable electrode is located above a surface of the substrate and is movable with respect to the substrate along directions that are substantially orthogonal to the surface. The fixed electrode is stationary with respect to the substrate. When the movable electrode is displaced in a first direction that is substantially orthogonal to the surface, the total sum of area-distance quotients in the overlap between the electrodes remains substantially unchanged or decreases to provide a first reduction rate that is substantially zero or more. On the other hand, when the movable electrode is displaced in a second direction that is substantially opposite to the first direction, the total sum of area-distance quotients remains substantially unchanged or decreases to provide a second reduction rate that is substantially zero or more. The reduction rates are different from each other.
