A measurement device may illuminate lensto be inspected with light at a plurality of different angles of incidence. The transmitted light that passes through lensmay be preferably detected by light detecting means. When light detecting meansdetects the light, it outputs an electrical signal. Control unitmay (1) align light sourcein the predetermined position and turns it on and (2) calculate the degree of refraction of the transmitted light that passes through lens, based upon the electrical signal output from light detecting means. Then, control unitmay further (3) conduct illumination at a plurality of different angles of incidence and obtain a plurality of 'angle of incidence&#x2014;degree of refraction' relationships from the degree of refraction calculated for each angle of incidence, and (4) calculate the fundamental data of lensby using the plurality of 'angle of incidence&#x2014;degree of refraction' relationships.

Methods and devices for measuring fundamental data of lenses

The present invention has been achieved by a material for a sintering appliance which comprises a base material comprising alumina&times;silica containing from 65 to 95% by weight of Al,O,having formed on the surface thereof a flame-coated film comprising ZrO,and CaO as main components, wherein the content of CaO is from 23 to 30% by weight based on the weight of the ZrO,and CaO, the mineral composition of the main components of the coated film is calcium zirconate. Preferably the difference of thermal expansion between the base material and the flame-coated film is 0.3% or more at 1,200&deg; C.

Material for sintering appliance

A calcining tool material, comprising a flame-spray zirconia coating layer made of unstabilized zirconia and stabilized or partially-stabilized zirconia in admixture, formed on the surface of an alumina-silica-based substrate having an Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 content of not less than 65% by weight.

Calcining tool material and method of fabricating thereof

The present invention has been achieved by a material for a sintering appliance which comprises a base material comprising alumina.times.silica containing from 65 to 95% by weight of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 having formed on the surface thereof a flame-coated film comprising ZrO.sub.2 and CaO as main components, wherein the content of CaO is from 23 to 30% by weight based on the weight of the ZrO.sub.2 and CaO, the mineral composition of the main components of the coated film is calcium zirconate. Preferably the difference of thermal expansion between the base material and the flame-coated film is 0.3 or more at 1,200.degree. C.

A setting member for a heating material formed by sintering and heating a base and a coating layer at 1300.degree. to 1550.degree. C., in which the base comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, MgO and ZrO.sub.2 in an amount of 70 wt % or more, the coating layer contains at least one main component selected from the group consisting of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, MgO and ZrO.sub.2 in an amount of 80 wt % or more and 0.5 to 10.0 wt % of at least one additional component selected from Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3, TiO.sub.2, BaO, SrO, ZrO.sub.2, CaO, and MgO (different from CaO and MgO used as a stabilizer for ZrO.sub.2) excluding the same types of the additional component as used in the main component of the coating layer.

Setting member for heating material

A method and apparatus for measuring a refracting power of an optical system to be inspected. A beam source generates a luminous flux which passes through the optical system to be inspected. A rotating plate intermittently blocks the beam after passing through the optical system to be inspected. A beam receiving element receives the beam passing through the optical system to be inspected and intermittently blocked by the rotating plate, and outputs a beam reception signal based on the received beam. A rotational position detector detects a rotational position of the rotating plate and outputs a rotational plate detection signal based on the detected rotational position of the rotating plate. Further, a calculating means calculates the refracting power of the optical system to be inspected based on a change quantity from the detected rotational plate detection signal to the detected beam reception signal.
