An optical fiber monitoring system monitors an inter-building optical fiber connecting a first building and a second building. The optical fiber monitoring system includes a first visualization panel provided in the first building and optically connected to an one end of the inter-building optical fiber, a second visualization panel provided in the second building and optically connected to an other end of the inter-building optical fiber, and a monitoring light source provided in the first building to input a monitoring light into the inter-building optical fiber. The first visualization panel includes a first photosensor that partially leaks the monitoring light inputted into the inter-building optical fiber from the monitoring light source and detects an amount of a leaked light. The second visualization panel includes a second photosensor that partially leaks a light from the inter-building optical fiber and detects amount of a leaked light.

A duplex LC communication light detecting adapter for forming two parallel optical transmission lines therein when a duplex LC connector is inserted so as to extract as a leak light a portion of communication light transmitting through the optical transmission lines, including an adapter main body that is opaque to light. The adapter main body includes a first space defined by a first wall and isolated from other spaces to arrange a first optical transmission line of the two optical transmission lines, a first light extraction hole for extracting the leak light from the first space, a second space defined by a second wall and isolated from other spaces to arrange a second optical transmission line of the two optical transmission lines, and a second light extraction hole for extracting the leak light from the second space.

Duplex LC communication light detecting adapter and duplex LC communication light detecting structure

A duplex LC communication light detecting adapter includes an adapter main body to form two parallel optical transmission lines therein when a duplex LC connector is inserted, the adapter main body including a side in which a light extraction hole is formed, the light extraction hole being located at a vertex of a isosceles triangle having a base that is a line segment connecting centers of the two optical transmission lines in a cross section and opened in a direction perpendicular to the line segment, and a sleeve holder formed integrally with the adapter main body to hold a sleeve that houses a ferrule of the duplex LC connector. The sleeve holder includes an opening section that is opened toward the light extraction hole in a range of more than 30 degrees to less than 120 degrees relative to the line segment in a cross section.

In a sensor control circuit, an impedance signal output unit has a HPF, a P/H circuit, a LPF, etc., and detects an element impedance of a sensor element on the basis of an impedance response signal which is alternately changed in response to an alternating current signal supplied to the sensor element. The P/H circuit has an input comparator which inputs an impedance detection voltage Vz after the HPF, a rectifying element connected to the P/H circuit, and a hold capacitor which is charged by the output of the input comparator. The input comparator has a constant current circuit and a transistor. The constant current circuit limits an updating value of a hold voltage value Vph of the hold capacitor every alternating current period. The sensor control device detects the element impedance of the sensor element with high accuracy while preventing influence of noise.

Detection device for detecting impedance of sensor element in gas sensor and sensor unit equipped with detection device

In a PM detection sensor with a sensor element having a pair of detection electrodes formed on a substrate, quantity of PM accumulated in the detection electrode is calculated on the basis of a resistance change between the detection electrodes. A series circuit composed of a temperature detection resistance and a capacitor connected in series is formed on a conductive path in the sensor element. A microcomputer in an ECU instructs a power source to supply a DC voltage to the resistance and the capacitor to make a first state in which no current flows in the resistance when a quantity of PM accumulated in the sensor element is detected. The microcomputer instructs the power source to supply an AC voltage to the resistance and the capacitor to make a second state in which a current flows in the resistance when a temperature of the sensor element is detected.

Particulate matter detection sensor and particulate matter detection sensor unit

A sensor control apparatus includes an applied voltage control circuit connected to the positive terminal of a sensor element. The applied voltage control circuit includes a reference power supply and a noninverting amplifier circuit connected to the reference power supply. An AC power supply circuit, a buffer and a current measurement resistance are connected in series to the negative terminal of the sensor element with the current measurement resistance disposed between the AC power supply circuit and the sensor element. One terminal of the current measurement resistance, which is on the side opposite to the sensor element, is held at a reference voltage (center voltage of an AC voltage generated from the AC power supply circuit). Voltage at an intermediate point between the current measurement resistance and the sensor element is inputted via a low-pass filter to the noninverting amplifier circuit of the applied voltage control circuit.

Sensor control apparatus

A vehicle frame structure includes a central frame member, extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction at a central portion of a body frame. The central frame member includes a front end joined to a second front cross pipe, and a rear end joined to a second lower crossmember behind the second front cross pipe. When viewed from the side, the central frame member extends in a substantially straight line along with the left and right front reinforcing pipes. The front end portion of the central frame member is joined to the second front cross pipe at a position inwardly of a joint between the left front reinforcing pipe and the second front cross pipe, and inwardly of a joint between the right front reinforcing pipe and the second front cross pipe. Such frame structure lowers level of a center of gravity of the vehicle, and enhances rigidity.

The gas sensor control apparatus develops a first voltage based on a first reference voltage at a negative terminal of a gas sensor device through a resistor and a second voltage based on a second reference voltage at a positive terminal of the gas sensor device. A controller samples through the resistor a sensor current, as created upon the development of the first and second voltage for measuring the concentration of gas. When the impedance of the gas sensor device is measured, the controller alternates the first voltage across the first reference voltage. The value (i.e., a zero-point) of the voltage applied to the gas sensor device when the sensor current is zero (i.e., 0 mA) depends upon the first and second reference voltages. The zero-point is corrected by regulating the second reference voltage to match an applying voltage characteristic to the gas sensor device correctly.

A gas concentration measuring apparatus for use in air-fuel ratio control of automotive engines is designed to determine the concentration of oxygen within a wide and a narrow range using a sensor current flowing through a sensor element. The apparatus includes an amplifier circuit equipped with an operational amplifier and a plurality of amplifying resistors and a switch. The switch is responsive to a request signal to switch a relation in electrical connection between an operational amplifier and the amplifying resistors to distribute the amplifying resistors into an input resistor and a feedback resistor for the operational amplifier to change an amplification factor of the amplifier circuit. This results in a change in resolution of measurement of the concentration of oxygen, thereby ensuring enhanced accuracy in determining the concentration of oxygen in a selected one of the narrow and wide ranges.

The gas sensor control apparatus is for controlling a gas sensor including a sensor element having a solid electrolyte layer, and first and second electrodes located on opposite sides of the solid electrolyte layer, the first electrode serving as a gas detecting electrode, the second electrode serving as a reference electrode, the sensor element generating, as a sensor output, a current flowing between the first and second electrodes having a value depending on concentration of a specific gas component contained in a gas under measurement. The gas sensor control apparatus includes a determination function of determining whether or not it is time for the gas sensor to start operation, and a control function of forcibly supplying oxygen from a side of the second electrode to a side of the first electrode on a temporary basis when a determination result of the first function becomes affirmative.

A control lever system permits setting of an appropriate traveling mode with a single control lever by changing over between two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, changing over a front differential gear between locked and free statuses, and changing over a rear differential gear between locked and free statuses. The single control lever is capable of setting the change-overs in prescribed combinations.

A gas concentration detection apparatus includes a series-connected combination of a sensor element and a resistor, with an AC voltage being applied to one of the outer terminals of that combination and with the other outer terminal being held at a fixed potential. A DC voltage signal at a level determined by an oxygen concentration that is detected by the sensor element, and an AC voltage signal at an amplitude determined by sensor element impedance and hence by the sensor element activation status, are extracted from the series-connected combination by respectively separate circuits which apply separately determined amplification factors.

An A/F signal proportional to an oxygen concentration in the exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine is output upon application of a voltage based on an instruction from a microcomputer. At the time an element resistance is detected, a bias instruction signal Vr from the microcomputer is converted by a D/A converterto an analog signal Vb. An output voltage Vc obtained by removing high frequency components from the analog signal Vb through an LPFis input to a bias control circuit. During this time period in which the element resistance is detected, an accurate A/F signal is not output. Therefore, the A/F signal that has theretofore prevailed is held by a Sample/Hold circuitto thereby prevent the use of an erroneous A/F signal. Namely, at the time of detecting the element resistance, the detected value of the oxygen concentration is prevented from becoming abnormal. As a result, an accurate A/F control can be executed using the detected element resistance.
