An antitumor composition for oral administration, comprising a 2'-deoxy-2'-methylidenecytidine compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a hydrogen or a halogen, and R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are the same or different and each is a hydrogen, a halogen or an alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an acid addition salt thereof or a hydrate thereof, and a sucrose ester of fatty acid(s). The pharmaceutical composition of the present invention comprising a DMDC compound useful as an antitumor agent based on its remarkable degenerative action on solid tumor shows an improved oral absorption.
