A container is configured by: a container body having an opening; a plate member which is made of a deformable material and which has a cutaway portion disposed for the opening; and a nozzle formed on the container body. A plate member is attached to the nozzle. The nozzle has a nozzle hole communicated with the cutaway portion. The plate member has an engagement cancellation portion where the plate member can be disengaged from the nozzle in a direction which is directed not to the nozzle but to the container body. In the container, even when an abnormal state of a certain extent occurs, such as when the container body falls, a liquid in the container does not leak out and a liquid which has not been completely ejected and remains in a midway portion can be automatically returned into the container body.

The device for holding an article according to the present invention comprises an external frame member defining a chamber and having an opening at one end thereof, and a resilient holding member mounted within the chamber and capable of holding an article which has been introduced into the chamber. The resilient holding member is mounted on the external frame member of the chamber such that the article is held by the resilient holding member in a desired position at a central portion of the chamber.

Cap holder means which holds the inner peripheral surface of a cap has an outer diameter which may be shrunk to a value less than and expanded to another value greater than the diameter of the inner peripheral surface of the cap. When the cap holder means assumes a shrunk condition in which the outer diameter thereof is less than the diameter of the inner peripheral surface of the cap, the cap holder means is capable of smoothly receiving a cap from a cap feeder. Upon receiving a cap, the cap holder means may be changed to an expanded condition presenting an outer diameter greater than the diameter of the inner peripheral surface of the cap, thereby allowing caps of any varying internal diameter to be centered with respect to the cap holder means. This allows a smooth delivery of the cap from the cap holder means to a capping head.
