Alloy member, cell stack, and cell stack device

An alloy member includes a base member that includes a plurality of recesses in a surface and is constituted by an alloy material containing chromium, a plurality of embedded portions that are respectively disposed in the plurality of recesses, and a coating layer that covers the base member and is connected to the plurality of embedded portions. An average value of actual lengths of line segments of the plurality of embedded portions is longer than an average value of straight lengths of straight lines of the plurality of embedded portions in a cross-section of the base member along a thickness direction of the base member. The average value of the actual lengths is 1.10 times or more the average value of the lengths of the straight lines.

In a cell stack, each of the plurality of the electrochemical cells includes an alloy member, a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer, and an electrolyte layer. The number of the separation inhibiting portions included in the alloy member of the central electrochemical cell is larger than the number of the separation inhibiting portions included in the alloy member of the end electrochemical cell.

Solid oxide fuel cell, and assembling method of the same

A solid oxide fuel cell has a stack structure in which sheet bodies and separators for separating air and fuel gas are stacked in alternating layers. Each of the sheet bodies includes an electrolyte layer, a fuel electrode layer formed on the upper surface of the electrolyte layer, and an air electrode layer formed on the lower surface of the electrolyte layer, wherein these layers are stacked and fired in such a manner that the electrolyte layer is sandwiched between the fuel electrode layer and the air electrode layer. The thickness of the electrolyte layer is 0.3 &#x3bc;m or more and 5 &#x3bc;m or less, and the electrolyte layer is composed of a single particle of YSZ in the thickness direction. Thus, the electrolyte layer is extremely thin, and further, the grain boundary in the thickness direction is small. Accordingly, the IR loss (electric resistance) of the electrolyte layer can remarkably be reduced.

Solid oxide fuel cell

The solid oxide fuel cell has a stack structure formed by stacking sheet bodies each of which comprises three layers of the electrolyte layer, a fuel electrode layer, an air electrode layer, and separators in alternating layers. In an air channel defined between the air electrode and the separator facing the air electrode layer, a SUS mesh made of stainless steel for electrically connecting both of them is confined. On the surface of the SUS mesh, previously by itself before the assembly of the stack structure, an Ag-plating treatment is performed and further a vacuum heat-treatment (heat-treatment under a negative pressure) is performed.

Powders of respective metal elements (Mn, Co) constituting a transition metal oxide (MnCoO) having a spinel type crystal structure are used as a starting material of the coating film. A film of a paste containing the mixture of the powders is formed on the surface of the interconnector, and with this state, the paste is sintered to form the coating film. In the coating body, a chromia layer including CrO, a first layer including elements of Mn, Co, Fe, Cr, and O, and a second layer including elements of Mn, Co, Fe, and O are provided in this order from the side close to the interconnector at the boundary between the coating film and the interconnector. With this structure, the coating film is difficult to be peeled even if the coating body is placed in a severe temperature change.

Coating body

Powders of respective metal elements (Mn,Co) constituting a transition metal oxide (MnCoO) having a spinel type crystal structure are used as a starting material. A paste containing the mixture of the powders is interposed between an air electrode and an interconnector, and with this state, a sintering is performed, whereby a bonding agent according to the present invention can be obtained. This bonding agent has a 'co-continuous structure'. In the 'co-continuous structure', a thickness of an arm portion that links many base portions to one another is 0.3 to 2.5 &#x3bc;m. The bonding agent includes a spherical particle in which plural crystal faces are exposed to the surface, the particle having a side with a length of 1 &#x3bc;m or more, among the plural sides constituting the outline of the crystal face. The diameter of the particle is 5 to 80 &#x3bc;m.
