Process for producing a precursor fiber bundle and a carbon fiber bundle

Applying a sizing agent as a water dispersed sizing agent to a continuous carbon fiber bundle consisting of 20,000 to 150,000 filaments, controlling the packing density in a range of 5,000 to 20,000 D/mm, cutting the carbon fiber bundle in a wet state of 10 to 35 wt % in solution content at the time of cutting, and drying with vibration at a solution content of 15 to 45 wt % before drying.
