According to one embodiment, an electronic device, which can be fitted on a body of a user, estimates action of the user by using one or more sensors. The electronic device receives first notification information detected by an external device, and filtering information indicative of an action type for which notification of the first notification information should be permitted or prohibited. The electronic device executes, when the estimated action is of the action type for which notification of the first notification information is permitted, processing for notifying the user of the first notification information.

According to one embodiment, a voice recognition apparatus includes a determination unit, an estimating unit, and a voice recognition unit. The determination unit determines whether a component with a frequency of not less than 1000 Hz and with a level not lower than a predetermined level is included in a sound input from a plurality of microphones. The estimating unit estimates a sound source direction of the sound when the determination unit determines that the component is included in the sound. The voice recognition unit recognizes whether the sound obtained in the sound source direction coincides with a voice model registered beforehand.

A robot device, which autonomously performs actions, includes a moving unit that moves the robot device, and a target position acquiring unit that acquires position information of a target. A movement method judging unit receives an instruction for a movement from a user, and judges whether or not a destination can be designated by fixed position information. When it is judged that the destination can be designated by the fixed position information, control is performed by a position movement control unit. When it is judged that the destination cannot be designated by the fixed position information, control is performed by a target movement control unit, which acquires position information from the target position acquiring unit, to operate the moving unit.

A moving robot includes a first arm portion is coupled to a first joint on a side portion of a main robot body. The first arm portion has concave portion with an opening. A folding mechanism is accommodated in the concave portion. In the folding mechanism, a second arm portion is connected to the first arm via a second joint portion. A third arm portion is also connected to the second arm portion via a third joint portion. The first arm portion is rotated around the first joint to orient the opening in an upper direction. The second joint portion can be slid along the concave portion to take out the folding mechanism through the opening.
