A sliding cutting machine () includes: slide bars (); a slide base (), which slides along the slide bars; and a cutting-machine main body (), which is swingable in an up-down direction about an up-down swing (pivot) shaft () provided on the slide base. The cutting-machine main body includes: an output shaft () extending in an axial direction orthogonal to the slide bars and mounting a cutting tool (); an electric motor () between the cutting tool and the slide bars when the cutting tool is vertical, and located more upward than the slide bars; and a motive-power transmitting part () transmitting the driving force of the electric motor to the output shaft. The motive-power transmitting part is between the cutting tool and the slide bars and upward of the slide bars when the cutting-machine main body is at a top dead center.

Sliding cutting machine

A sliding cutting machine () includes: at least one slide bar () having an elongated shape; a slide base () slidably mounted on the at least one slide bar (); and a cutting-machine main body () mounted on the slide base () such that it is movable in an up-down direction relative to the slide base (). The cutting-machine main body () includes: an output shaft () that extends in an axial direction orthogonal to an extension direction of the at least one slide bar () and on which a cutting tool () is mounted; and an electric motor () disposed between the cutting tool () and the at least one slide bar (), as viewed along the extension direction of the at least one slide bar (), while the output shaft () is rotating and the cutting tool () is vertical.

A fine adjuster for finely adjusting the lateral tilt position of a cutting machine body has improved operability. A cutting machine includes a table, a cutting machine body, a tilting member supporting the cutting machine body in a manner laterally tiltable relative to the table, a tilting locking member, and a lever member to adjust the tilt position of the cutting machine body. The lever member includes a fulcrum coupled to the table in a manner rotatable about an axis, a load point coupled to the tilting member, and an effort point extending from the fulcrum and located at a distance from the fulcrum greater than a distance between the fulcrum and the load point.

Cutting machine

An illuminator that emits light from a radially outer portion of the cutting tool toward the cutting tool includes a first light source and a second light source, and a first lens and a second lens. The first lens has a first emission surface including a first outermost portion located farthest and at a first distance from a first center axis including a first light source center of the first light source and perpendicular to the first light source. The second lens has a second emission surface including a second outermost portion located farthest and at a second distance from a second center axis including a second light source center of the second light source and perpendicular to the second light source. A distance between the first center axis and the second center axis is shorter than a sum of the first distance and the second distance.

A positioner positions a guide ruler relative to a workpiece that is adjacent to the guide ruler while more stably retaining the guide ruler at the locked position without causing interference with a cutting operation. A positioner that positions a ruler body relative to a workpiece includes a contact member to be in contact with an edge of the workpiece and extendable along the edge of the workpiece, a support supporting the contact member in a manner rotatable on a lower surface of the ruler body, and a position retainer that retains the contact member at a rotational position.

Guide ruler for portable machining apparatus

A portable machining apparatus has high operability in tilting a body with respect to a base or in machining a workpiece with the tilting body. A portable machining apparatus placeable on a long gauge placed on an upper surface of a workpiece includes a base placeable on the long gauge, a body including a blade for machining the workpiece, an angular plate fixed to the base to support the body in a tiltable manner and including a protrusion, a body support located between the body and the base and including a guide engageable with the protrusion to allow sliding of the protrusion on the guide, and a spring that urges the protrusion toward the guide.

Portable machining apparatus

A compound miter saw () includes a turntable-fixing mechanism () and a tilt-fixing mechanism () configured to respectively fix the miter angle and tilt (bevel) angle of a cutting-machine main body (). The turntable-fixing mechanism includes a fixing rod () configured to lock rotation of a turntable () relative to a base () by manually rotating a grip () attached thereto, and is disposed forward of a front surface of a table-extension part (), downward of an upper surface of the turntable, and at the center of the table-extension part in the left-right direction. The tilt-fixing mechanism includes a manually rotatable tilt-fixing manipulatable part () provided between the front surface of the table-extension part and the grip. A rotary shaft () of the tilt-fixing manipulatable part is coaxial with the fixing rod (rotary shaft) attached to the grip.

Compound miter saw

An operation member has a higher degree of design freedom in, for example, the position and the amount of displacement of an operation part, and the force used for operation. A portable cutting machine includes a base, an electric motor, a blade rotatable by the electric motor, a movable cover covering a lower part of the blade protruding downward from the base and rotatable to be open, an operation lever located frontward from a rotation center of the blade and rotatable, and a transmission lever rotatable to push and open the movable cover when pushed by the operation lever.

Portable cutting machine

Twisting of a locking member due to cogging torque is reduced without lowering the locking and unlocking operability for a user. A power tool includes a housing, an electric motor located inside the housing and including a permanent magnet, a shaft rotatable about an axis relative to the housing to transmit power from the electric motor, a locking member movable between a lock position and an unlock position in a nonenergized state of the electric motor and engageable with the shaft at the lock position to lock rotation of the shaft, and an abutting member that applies, to the locking member at the lock position, a force in a direction opposite to an axial torque caused by the permanent magnet and applied to the locking member.

Power tool

A bracket () includes: a pedestal () that is mountable on a support frame () of a work stand () for supporting a saw (); and first and second engaging parts (A,B) arranged on the pedestal to sandwich the support frame in a horizontal direction and engage with first and second engagement parts (A,B) on opposite sides of the support frame. The second engaging part includes first and second levers (). The pedestal is movable along the longitudinal direction of the support frame by manipulating only the first lever to disengage it from the second engagement part (B) and is removable from the support frame by simultaneously manipulating both the first and second levers in the same direction to disengage them from the second engagement part. The first and second levers both move in the same opposite direction to engage the second engagement part.

Work stand for power tool and bracket therefor

A cutting device main body with a saw blade in a tabletop cutting device, supported so as to be swingable in an up-to-down direction with respect to a table on which material to be cut is placed, aims to improve operability for attaching and detaching the battery. A sliding direction for attaching and detaching the battery is set to be a tilting direction angled with respect to an up-to-down moving direction of the cutting device main body in a surface direction of a cutting blade. Because of this configuration, all of an operation force for attaching and detaching the battery is not applied to the up-to-down moving direction of the cutting device main body. As a result, the cutting main body is not moved in an easy manner and operability for attaching and detaching the battery is improved.

Cutting device

In a band saw that is provided with a tension adjustment mechanism in which tension for an band saw blade can be adjusted, first and second wheel support shafts are provided in paired first and second wheel support portions, respectively, such that the first support shaft is parallel to the second support shaft. The first wheel support portion is configured to be movable in a direction in which a straight line extends, the straight line being perpendicular to both the first and second wheel support shafts. A first support is provided at a first end of the first wheel support portion, and a second support is provided at a second end of the first wheel support portion. Furthermore, an intermediate support is provided between the first support and the second support. A first load and a second load are configured to be applied to the second support and the intermediate support, respectively, such that the first load and the second load are parallel to the wheel support shaft and the direction of the first load is opposite to that of the second load.

Portable band saw

Two 18V-type rechargeable batteries (and) are attached in series so as to allow a 36V-type tabletop cutting device (C) to be utilized. By utilizing the 18V batteries which are highly prevalent for electric tools, it is possible to use the 36V-type tabletop cutting device (C) as well as to reduce costs for the batteries.

Miter saw

A jigsaw includes a jigsaw main body, a handle, and a battery. The jigsaw main body includes a housing, a motor disposed inside the housing, and a battery mounting portion having a first mounting surface facing downward. The handle is disposed at an upper portion of the jigsaw main body and above the motor. The battery has a second mounting surface and supplies the motor with an electric power. The battery is slidable along the first mounting surface and mountable to the battery mounting portion with the first and second mounting surfaces facing each other.
