Provided is a process for producing a cycloolefin resin composition, comprising a step of hydrogenating a resin composition. The resin composition before hydrogenation, which is used in the above step, includes 0.01 to 20 parts by weight of an unsaturated hydrocarbon compound having a boiling point of 50&#xb0; C. or higher, for example, a monomer employed in polymerization, per 100 parts by weight of the resin composition.

Provided is a method for producing a resin composition by melt-kneading a cyclic olefin polymer (A) having a glass transition temperature of from 60 to 200&#xb0; C. and a flexible polymer (B) having a glass transition temperature of 0&#xb0; C. or lower, wherein a part of the cyclic olefin polymer (A) is previously melt-kneaded with the flexible polymer (B) and a radical initiator (C) and then the remaining cyclic olefin polymer (A) is added thereto and melt-kneaded. The cyclic olefin polymer (A) is divided into two portions and added separately at two times, and accordingly, the mixture having a crosslinked structure may be diluted with the cyclic olefin polymer (A) not having a crosslinked structure, and the increase in the melt viscosity of the resin composition may be thereby prevented. A composition having good abrasion resistance and good melt shapability can be obtained.

Method for producing resin composition

A novel olefin-based polymer has excellent thermal resistance, as well as excellent balance among various properties. The olefin-based polymer is an olefin-based polymer comprising 50 to 100% by weight of a constituent unit derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene, and 0 to 50% by weight of a constituent unit derived from at least one olefin selected from olefins having 2 to 20 carbon atoms except 4-methyl-1-pentene, and having the following properties: i) the diad isotacticity is 70% or greater, ii) the ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn) as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) is in the range of 1.0 to 3.5, and iii) the intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] is 0.5 (dl/g) or greater.

Olefin-based polymers and uses thereof

A film that has high rigidity and high heat resistance and good releasability from a roughened copper foil surface, which is subjected to surface oxidization or etching treatment with acid, such as a black oxidized copper foil surface and that is suitable as a release film for producing an MLB; and a process for producing the same. A drawn film having a layer (A) which comprises a copolymer that is made from 4-methyl-1-pentene and ethylene or an &#x3b1;-olefin, except 4-methyl-1-pentene, having 3 to 20 carbon atoms and that comprises 80% or more by mole of 4-methyl-1-pentene, the thermal coefficient of contraction of the film being 20% or more in the film-drawn direction, or the peel area of the film being 50% or more when the film, together with a copper foil surface subjected to roughening treatment, is subjected to heating and pressing treatment. This film is suitable for producing an MLB and has good releasability from the roughened copper foil surface, for example, a black oxidized copper foil surface.

A polyolefin multilayer laminate in which a first layer (A) made of a cycloolefin-based resin, such as an ethylene/cycloolefin random copolymer resulting from copolymerization of ethylene and a cycloolefin represented by the formula (1) given below, or a cycloolefin-based resin blend and a second layer (B) made of an olefin (co)polymer or a composition containing it are laminated. This laminate can be used as a packaging material which is superior in the interlayer adhesion, shapability, moistureproof property, transparency, flexibility, easiness of hand-cutting, heat-sealability and dead-hold property. A polyolefin resin composition comprising (A) a polyolefin resin, (B) a graft-modified .alpha.-olefin copolymer grafted with an unsaturated carboxylic acid and its derivative, and (C) an amino group-containing compound, (D) said polyolefin resin composition containing a crosslinked structure between the amino group-containing compound (C) and the graft-modified .alpha.-olefin copolymer (B), and containing, based on 100 parts by weight of the polyolefin resin (A) and the graft-modified .alpha.-olefin copolymer (B) in total, 1 to 99 parts by weight of each of the polyolefin resin (A) and the graft-modified .alpha.-olefin copolymer (B) and 0.01 to 10 parts by weight of the amino group-containing compound (C).
