A method for manufacturing a light emitting device according to the present invention includes: providing an intermediate member including: a support member including: housing portions, the housing portions having first recessed portion(s) each having a lateral wall and a bottom surface, and a coupling portion located between adjacent ones of the housing portions and having a height lower than a height of the lateral wall with reference to the bottom surface of the first recessed portion, a light source mounted on the bottom surface of the first recessed portion, and an encapsulant disposed in the first recessed portion; and forming a first light-transmissive member continuously covering the housing portions and the coupling portion. An inclined surface of the first light-transmissive member has a height above the coupling portion is lower than a height above the housing portions with reference to the bottom surface of the first recessed portion.

Method for manufacturing light emitting device, light emitting device, and light emitting module

A light source device includes light sources arranged on a substrate in a matrix, and a reflective member. The reflective member includes first walls respectively surrounding the light sources, and defining first regions, and second walls located on an outer side of the first walls, and defining second regions each having an opening facing outside of the reflective member. The reflective member defines a pair of first sides parallel to one of a vertical direction and a lateral direction in a plan view, the pair of first sides being constituted by a part of the reflective member including at least one of the first walls and the first regions, and a second side inclined or curved with respect to the pair of first sides, the second side being constituted by a part of the reflective member including at least one of the second walls and the second regions.

Light source device

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a plurality of light sources, a partitioning member, a light transmissive member, a plurality of reflecting portions. The light sources are arranged on the substrate. Each of the light sources has a light emitting diode. The partitioning member includes a plurality of wall portions defining a plurality of sections respectively surrounding at least one of the light sources, the wall portions including top portions. The light transmissive member is arranged above the light sources. The plurality of reflecting portions are arranged on a lower surface of the light transmissive member. Lower surfaces of the reflecting portions are positioned lower than apexes of the top portions of the wall portions of the partitioning member.

Light emitting device

A light source device includes a plurality of light sources, a substrate on which the light sources are arranged, and a reflective member arranged on the substrate via an adhesive member. The reflective member defines a plurality of through holes. The light sources are respectively disposed inside the through holes in a plan view. The adhesive member is light-reflective.

A planar light source includes a mounting substrate, a plurality of light sources, a partition member, a frame body, a wavelength conversion member, and a light diffusion plate. The light sources are arranged two-dimensionally on the mounting substrate in a plan view. The partition member includes a wall portion surrounding each of the light sources except for outermost ones of the light sources in the plan view. The wall portions are located inward of the outermost ones of the light sources. The frame body has a bottom portion and a lateral wall surrounding the mounting substrate. The wavelength conversion member is disposed on the lateral wall of the frame body. The light diffusion plate is disposed above the plurality of light sources and the wavelength conversion member.

Planar light source

A planar light source includes an irregular-shaped mounting substrate, light sources arranged along first and second directions in a plan view, and a light diffusion plate including a thick plate portion and a thin plate portion outward of outermost light sources in the plan view. In the first direction, a distance between an optical axis of one first distal-end light source of one array and an outer edge of the light diffusion plate is greater than a distance between that of another first distal-end light source of another array and the outer edge. In a plan view, the thin plate portion has a width along a straight line along the first direction from the optical axis of the one first distal-end light source toward the outer edge greater than a width along a straight line from the optical axis of the second distal-end light source toward the outer edge.

Planar light source and liquid crystal display device

A light source device includes a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix, a substrate, and a reflective member. The reflective member includes first walls defining a first region entirely surrounded by the first walls in a plan view, and second walls located on an outer side of the first walls, the second walls defining a second region having an opening facing outside of the reflective member and a third region. An area of the second region is greater than an area of the third region in the plan view. The light sources are disposed respectively in the first region and in the second region while none of the light sources is disposed in the third region.

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a demarcating member and a light-diffusing plate. The substrate has a plurality of light sources. The demarcating member includes a plurality of wall parts defining a plurality of compartments respectively corresponding to the light sources with each of the light sources being surrounded by corresponding ones of the wall parts defining a single compartment. Each of the wall parts include a ridge part and an inclined surface part. The light-diffusing plate is disposed above the light sources and having a plurality of first protrusions disposed on a first surface of the light-diffusing plate facing the substrate. Each of the first protrusions overlaps the inclined surface part of each of corresponding ones of the wall parts in a plan view. Each of the first protrusions surrounds a corresponding one of the light sources in the plan view.

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a plurality of light sources, a partitioning member and a diffuser panel. The light sources are arranged on the substrate. Each of the light sources has a light emitting diode. The partitioning member includes a plurality of wall portions defining a plurality of sections respectively surrounding at least one of the light sources. The wall portions include top portions. The diffuser panel is arranged above the light sources. The diffuser panel defines a plurality of grooves respectively accommodating the top portions of the partitioning member.

A light source device includes a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix, a substrate, and a reflective member. The reflective member includes first walls defining a first region entirely surrounded by the first walls in a plan view, and second walls located on an outer side of the first walls, the second walls defining a second region and a third region each only partially surrounded by the second walls in the plan view such that an area of the second region is equal to or greater than a half of an area of the first region and an area of the third region is less than the half of the area of the first region in the plan view. The light sources are disposed respectively in the first region and in the second region while none of the light sources is disposed in the third region.

A light emitting device includes a resin package having a rectangular shape in a top view and two short-side lateral surfaces and two long-side lateral surfaces. The two short-side lateral surfaces include a first external surface and a second external surface located on an opposite side from the first external surface. The two long-side lateral surfaces include a third external surface and a fourth external lateral surface located on an opposite side from the third external lateral surface. The lead is not exposed on the third external lateral surface nor the fourth external lateral surface. The first lead is exposed at the first external lateral surface and the second external lateral surface, respectively flush with the resin member at the first external lateral surface and the second external lateral surface. The second lead is exposed at the second external lateral surface, flush with the resin part at the second external lateral surface.

A method of determining a chromaticity rank of a light emitting device includes selecting the light emitting device having a chromaticity rank in a region surrounded by four defining points on a 1931 CIE Chromaticity Diagram. A ratio of a distance in a y-direction between, of the four defining points, two defining points furthest from each other in the y-direction to a distance in an x-direction between, of the four defining points, two defining points furthest from each other in the x-direction is 0.5 or less A peak light emission wavelength of the blue light emitting element is in a range of 447 to 452 nm, a peak light emission wavelength of the green light emitting element is in a range of 520 to 541 nm, and a peak light emission wavelength of the red light emitting element is in a range of 630 to 632 nm.

Method of determining chromaticity rank of light emitting device

A light-emitting device includes: a resin package including: a lead part including a first lead and a second lead, each including a main body portion and a raised portion connected to the main body portion, wherein an upper surface of each of the first lead and the second lead includes a first primary surface portion in the main body portion and a curved portion in the raised portion in a cross-sectional view taken in a direction perpendicular to an upper surface of the lead part, and wherein the curved portion is continuous with and curved upward from an end portion of the first primary surface portion, a resin portion, and a recess defined by a portion of the upper surface of the lead part and the resin portion; and a light-emitting element mounted in the resin package. The curved portion is buried in the resin portion.

Light-emitting device

The light emitting device package of the present invention has a longitudinal direction (as viewed from above) and a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and is provided with a first and second lead-frame lined-up in the longitudinal direction and molded resin holds the first and second lead-frames integrally. The package is characterized in that the first lead-frame has a main body and an extension that extends from the main body with a narrowed width towards the second lead-frame. Further, a recess is established in the bottom surface of the first lead-frame, and at least part of the exposed region of the bottom surface of the extension is separated from the exposed region of the bottom surface of the main body by the molded resin that fills the recess.

A lead frame includes: a plurality of units each including a first lead portion and a second lead portion arranged in a first direction, wherein the units are arranged in the first direction and in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and the first lead portion and the second lead portion of each unit are adjacent, in the second direction, to the first lead portion and the second lead portion of an adjacent one of the units that is adjacent in the second direction; a plurality of first suspension portions; and a plurality of connecting portions. Each of the first suspension portions connects, in the second direction, the first lead portions of units that are adjacent to each other in the second direction.
