A power take-off support portion, including a shaft hole and an outer side surface formed around the shaft hole, is formed on a transaxle housing. The outer side surface of the power take-off support portion is shaped to fit a power take-off casing supporting a power take-off shaft in a first direction. A power take-off casing includes a power take-off main casing member and a base casing member joined to each other. The base casing member is formed with an inner side surface and an outer side surface. The inner side surface and the outer side surface of the base casing member are shaped so that the power take-off shaft supported by the power take-off main casing member is oriented in a second direction different from the first direction when the inner side surface of the base casing member is fitted to the outer side surface of the power take-off support portion, and the outer side surface of the base casing member is fitted to the inner side surface of the power take-off main casing member.

Differential system

In a frame structure of a vehicle that includes a flywheel housing, an intermediate housing and a transmission case that are connected to each other along a longitudinal axis of the vehicle to constitute a vehicle frame, the intermediate housing has a hollow shape with a first end and a second end located along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, the first end having an abutting surface against which the second end of the flywheel housing abuts, a support surface located radially inwardly of the abutting surface so as to support the forward/rearward movement switching unit, and an opening surrounded by the support surface, the opening serving as a first-end opening of the intermediate housing along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The abutting surface and the support surface along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle are located so that at least a portion of the forward/rearward movement switching unit is accommodated within the flywheel housing.

Frame structure of a vehicle

A vehicle has an engine, an accelerator for controlling the rotary speed of the engine, an axle and a multi-speed transmission for transmitting power from the engine to the axle. The multi-speed transmission includes an odd-numbered speed drive train for an odd-numbered speed level, a first clutch for the odd-numbered speed drive train, an even-numbered speed drive train for an even-numbered speed level, and a second clutch for the even-numbered speed drive train. In correspondence to operation of the accelerator and an actual speed of the axle, either the odd-numbered speed drive train or the even-numbered speed drive train is selected so as to transmit power from the engine to the axle. A shift-up or shift-down timing between the odd-numbered speed level and the even-numbered speed level relative to variation of the actual speed of the axle is changed according to detection of a tilt angle of the vehicle or a weight of the vehicle.

Vehicle transmission system

A speed change system for a working vehicle comprises a main transmission, a sub transmission and a preliminary transmission. The main transmission receives a prime mover power outputted from a prime mover, and has plural main speed stages, one of which is selected to transmit the prime mover power. The sub transmission is disposed on the downstream of the main transmission, and has plural sub speed stages, one of which is selected to transmit a power from the main transmission. The preliminary transmission is disposed on the upstream of the main transmission, and has plural preliminary speed stages, one of which is selected to transmit the prime mover power to the main transmission. An operation for selecting one of the preliminary speed stages can be performed during traveling of the working vehicle.

Speed change system for working vehicle

A transaxle has an axle, an input shaft drivingly connected to a prime mover and a brake disposed around the input shaft so as to brake the input shaft. A reduction drive train is drivingly interposed between the input shaft and the axle. The transaxle also has a reduction casing incorporating the reduction drive train and a lube sump provided in the reduction casing. A delivery opening is located at an outer peripheral side surface of the input shaft so as to deliver lube to the brake. The transaxle also has a brake lube passage provided in the input shaft so as to be connected to the delivery opening and lube introduction means for supplying lube from the lube sump to the brake lube passage.

A utility vehicle comprises: a cargo; an engine disposed under the cargo, the engine including a fore-and-aft crankshaft; a lateral axle disposed under the cargo; a hydrostatic transmission (a hydraulic pump and a hydraulic motor) disposed under the cargo so as to transmit power from the engine to the axle; and a mechanical transmission (e.g., a planetary gear mechanism) disposed under the cargo so as to transmit power from the engine to the axle. The mechanical transmission includes a transmission shaft disposed in parallel to the axle. The hydrostatic transmission and the mechanical transmission are laterally juxtaposed. Therefore, the utility vehicle is minimized while ensuring a sufficiently large capacity of the cargo.

A transaxle for auxiliary wheels of a vehicle having a main drive wheel and left and right auxiliary drive wheels, comprises: a gear to which a rotary force for driving the main drive wheel is distributed; a pair of left and right axles drivingly connected to the respective left and right auxiliary drive wheels; a pair of clutches, wherein one of the clutches is interposed between the gear and the left axle, and the other clutch is interposed between the gear and the right axle; judging means for judging whether or not the main drive wheel slips; and a shift mechanism for engaging and disengaging the pair of clutches based on the judgment of the judging means. The judging means comprises a two-way clutch interposed between the gear and the pair of axles, which is engaged when rotary speed of the gear exceeds rotary speed of at least one of the axles. Alternatively, the judging means comprises: a sensor for detecting rotary speed of the gear; a sensor for detecting rotary speed of at least one of the axles; and a controller for controlling the shift mechanism. The controller receives signals from both of the sensors so as to judge whether or not the main drive wheel slips.

Transaxle of multi-wheel drive vehicle

There is provided a PTO transmission structure including a PTO driving shaft operatively connected to a driving source, a PTO driven shaft arranged in a downstream side in a transmission direction of the PTO driving shaft, a PTO clutch unit for selectively performing power transmission/power interruption from the PTO driving shaft to the PTO driven shaft, and a transmission case for supporting the PTO driving shaft and the PTO driven shaft and for accommodating the PTO clutch unit. The transmission case has a case main body which includes a first wall having a first hole for supporting the PTO driving shaft, and a second wall having a second hole for supporting the PTO driven shaft, the second wall being spaced apart from the first wall so as to define a first accommodating space to position the PTO clutch unit between the first wall and the second wall. The PTO clutch unit includes a drive-side member operatively connected to the PTO driving shaft, and an output shaft member operatively connected to the PTO driven shaft. Each of the PTO driving shaft and the PTO driven shaft is connected to the drive-side member and the output shaft member, respectively, of the PTO clutch unit by inserting the PTO driving shaft through the first hole from the upstream side in the transmission direction of the first wall and inserting the PTO driven shaft through the second hole from the downstream side in the transmission direction of said second wall with said PTO clutch unit positioned in the first accommodating space.

PTO transmission structure

A vehicle including an integral transaxle apparatus with axles, a driving hydrostatic transmission (HST), a steering HST, and a differential unit. Driving operating means for slanting operation of a first movable swash plate of the variable displacement driving hydraulic pump for switching the travelling direction between forward and backward and for changing the travelling speed, and steering operating means for slanting operation of a second movable swash plate of the variable displacement steering hydraulic pump so as to determine the leftward and rightward cornering angle are provided. The steering hydraulic motor has a third movable swash plate interlocking with the driving operating means so that the slanting direction of the third movable swash plate is changed according to the operation of the driving operating means, whereby the vehicle turns laterally in the same direction in response to the steering operating means whether the vehicle travels forward or backward.

A transmission for a working vehicle for transmitting drive power from an engine to a driving axle that includes: a flywheel including a flywheel body operatively connected with the engine and a flywheel housing for accommodating the flywheel body; a main-speed-change unit including a main-input shaft operatively connected with the engine via the flywheel body and a main-output shaft for outputting drive power to be transmitted to the driving axle; and a sub-speed-change unit including a sub-input shaft and a sub-output shaft, and disposed at a distance from the main-speed-change unit. The engine, the flywheel and the main-speed-change unit are integrally connected with each other so as to vibrate freely relative to a vehicle frame, and the main-output shaft of the main-speed-change unit is operatively coupled with the sub-input shaft of the sub-speed-change unit via a vibration-absorbing shaft coupling.

Transmission for a working vehicle and vehicle

A transmission for speed changing and steering of a vehicle comprises a first HST and a first differential for speed changing and a second HST and a second differential for steering. The first HST is a combination of a hydraulic pump and motor. The pump is driven by an engine and the motor is drivingly changeable by operation of a speed change pedal. Output power from the motor is transmitted into a pair of first differential output shafts as axles through the first differential. The second HST is a combination of a hydraulic pump and motor. The second pump is driven by output power from the first HST and the second motor is drivingly changeable by operation of a steering wheel. A pair of second differential output shafts are rotated in opposite directions by output power of the motor, so that when turning, the first differential output shaft on the opposite side of the turning direction is accelerated.

Transmission for speed changing and steering of a vehicle

A vehicle power transmission system comprises: a prime mover mounted on a vehicle body frame; a first axle and a first transaxle for driving the first axle disposed at one of front and rear portions of a vehicle, the first transaxle having a first input part projecting outward therefrom, and the first transaxle having a power take-off shaft projecting outward therefrom opposite to the first input part; a speed-changing transmission drivingly interposed between the prime mover and the first input part; a second axle and a second transaxle for driving the second axle disposed at the other rear or front portion of the vehicle, the second axle having a second input part; and a power take-off train extended from a leading part to an ending part. The prime mover is disposed between the first transaxle and the second transaxle in a fore-and-aft direction of the vehicle. The leading part of the power take-off train is drivingly connected to the power take-off shaft, and the ending part of the power take-off train is drivingly connected to the second input part. The leading part of the power take-off train is separated from the first transaxle and laterally offset from the prime mover.

Vehicle power transmission system

In a working vehicle, a variable output HST and a planetary gear unit are connected with an engine, which is supported on a vehicle frame closer to a first side of a fore and aft direction of the vehicle in vibration free manner so as to together constitute a driving-side unit, which is integrally supported on the vehicle frame in vibration free manner. A transmission case of a transmission is fixedly supported on the vehicle frame closer to a second side of the fore and aft direction of the vehicle with a distance from the driving-side unit. An output element of the planetary gear unit is operatively connected with a wheel drive train of the transmission via a shaft coupling extending along the fore and aft direction of the vehicle.
