Methods of treating or preventing axonal degradation in neuropathic diseases in mammals are disclosed. The methods can comprise administering to the mammal an effective amount of an agent that acts by increasing sirtuin activity in diseased and/or injured neurons. The methods can also comprise administering to the mammal an effective amount of an agent that acts by increasing NAD activity in diseased and/or injured neurons. Also disclosed are methods of screening agents for treating a neuropathies and recombinant vectors for treating or preventing neuropathies.

Methods and compositions for treating neuropathies

The invention relates to novel ninjurin proteins, nucleic acids, peptides, antibodies and pharmaceutical compositions.

Ninjurin

According to the invention, a motion vector can be accurately and efficiently detected with regard to any type of images having a variety of characteristics. A motion vector detection unit detects a motion vector with regard to a coding target block on the basis of correlation with a candidate block within a search range. A search range storing memory stores pixel data of an original search range, and supplies, to the motion vector detection unit, pixel data of a search range in accordance with a memory address. A control unit sets the size and the position of the search range on the basis of the motion vector and the correlation evaluation value supplied from the motion vector detection unit, and generates pixel widths in the horizontal and vertical directions of the search range and an offset value corresponding to the relative position to the original search range. An address generation unit generates the memory address to be supplied to the search range storing memory on the basis of the pixel widths and the offset value of the search range generated by the control unit.

Device and method for motion vector detection

A processor, a task management table, and a scheduler are built in a microcontroller. The processor sequentially runs a plurality of tasks for controlling hardware engines (cores) respectively allocated thereto. The task management table stores task management information which includes state information (ST INFO) representative of the execution state of each task, priority information (PRI INFO) representative of the execution priority of each task, and core identification information (CID INFO) representative of the allocation of the tasks to the cores. The scheduler allows the processor to switch between tasks on the basis of the task management information when a given instruction is decoded or when the execution of any one of the cores is terminated.

An operation controller, an operation unit and a memory are provided. The operation controller always receives a non-gated clock signal from a clock controller. When an operation initiating signal and a parameter signal indicating resources to be used in the operation unit are generated by a microcontroller, the operation controller asserts a request signal. In response to the request signal, respective gated clock signals are supplied from the clock controller to the operation unit and to the memory. The operation controller determines whether or not a status signal supplied from the operation unit satisfies a predetermined end condition. If the signal satisfies the end condition, the operation controller negates the request signal. As a result, the supply of the clock signals to the operation unit and to the memory is stopped.

Processor

In detecting a motion vector, sub-sampling is more selectively and adaptively set in terms of power consumption and detection performance. A correlation calculation section includes a plurality of correlation calculation blocks, each calculating correlation between a block to be coded and an associated candidate block within a search range. Each correlation calculation block is supplied with a different group of pixels of the block to be coded and an associated group of pixels of the associated candidate block, and calculates the correlation between the two groups of pixels supplied. A control section selectively sets sub-sampling in accordance with image feature information such as the frequency components of the block to be coded or operating state information such as the power left in a battery. And, in accordance with the setting of sub-sampling, the control section selectively operates part or all of the correlation calculation blocks of the correlation calculation section.

Method and apparatus for detecting motion vector and image coding apparatus

In a motion vector detection apparatus, cascade-connected processor elements each calculates the absolute value of the difference between each of a plurality of pixels which compose a picture and a corresponding one of the same number of pixels included in a block, and also performs cumulative addition of the difference absolute values in the block. These operations are performed for each of the blocks within the predetermined search area. A comparative device repeatedly compares the cumulative addition values of two blocks obtained sequentially in the processor element at the final stage, and selects the smaller one of the cumulative addition values. A subtracter compares the smaller cumulative addition value with a setting value. When the smaller cumulative addition value is smaller than the setting value, a control circuit halts the supply of clock signals to the processor elements and the comparison device, so as to halt the entire operations of the apparatus. Consequently, the power consumption can be reduced.

Motion vector detection apparatus

The present invention includes novel ninjurin proteins, peptides, and nucleic acids, as well as antibodies and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the same. The present invention further includes vectors and host cells comprising those nucleic acid sequences, chimeric protein and peptide molecules comprising the proteins and peptides of the present invention fused to heterologous polypeptide sequences. Also provided herein are antibodies which bind to the proteins and peptides of the present invention and methods for detecting the proteins and peptides of the present invention.

Further, the case of this hearing aid is divided into two that the first half-case for receiving the earphone, and the second half-case for receiving the microphone, and the joint part between the first and second-half cases is formed so as to substantially flat, in order to apply stress without bias to the waterproof member inserted into the joint part. Thereby, a hearing aid in which the waterproof performance can be further improved can be realized.
