A device for melting, storing, and feeding a metal material is provided which can store a large amount of molten metal material corresponding to molding cycles with a compact configuration, using barrels to melt bar-shaped metal materials and a tank-and-barrel storage unit to store the molten metal material. The storage unit for the molten metal material is composed of an upper storage tank and a lower material temperature control barrel having a smaller diameter, the barrel being perpendicularly arranged under and in communication with the bottom center of the tank. The melting barrels for bar-shaped metal materials are made of barrel bodies having an inside diameter and a length appropriate to accommodate the bar-shaped metal materials. A more than one melting barrel is vertically arranged in parallel on a lid member of the storage tank, with their bottom openings facing the inside of the storage tank.

An injection molding machine for low-melting point metallic material has an injection mechanism having a tip portion, a melting cylinder and a rear portion holding a drive mechanism. The tip portion has a weighing chamber and a nozzle member feeding a mold. The melting cylinder is held at an oblique angle to promote gravity flow of the molten metal toward the tip portion. The melting cylinder encloses an agitating and injection mechanism that rotates and advances or retreats freely within the cylinder. One agitating and injection mechanism has a hollow shaft surrounding an injection rod tipped by an injection plunger that moves lengthwise in the shaft and agitating wings disposed around the tip end of the hollow shaft. The wings reach the inner sides of the cylinder and rotate. The plunger may extend beyond the shaft to be inserted in the weighing chamber.

An injection molding apparatus of a metal material places a heating cylinder in an inclined position. The heating cylinder includes a nozzle at a tip thereof and a screw disposed inside. In this way, the metal material in a liquid phase state can be transferred and metered accurately in a reliable manner at all times by flowing due to the inclination and a transfer force produced by rotation of the screw. A clamping apparatus is provided to oppose the injection apparatus and includes a mold having a sprue bush inside. The injection apparatus and the clamping apparatus are placed on an apparatus platform in an inclined position at the same angle with the mold in a lower end, so that the metal material in the liquid phase state in the heating cylinder flows down toward the head due to self-weight. The nozzle and sprue bush are positioned on the same straight line, thereby maintaining nozzle touch without bending the nozzle.

An injection method and apparatus for melted metals are provided to transfer the metals, to melt them by external heat, and to meter and degas the metals by employing a reservoir to reserve metals in liquid phase. The injection apparatus includes a heating cylinder having a fore end portion which communicates with a nozzle member and of which internal diameter is made smaller to serve as a metering chamber, and an injection screw installed within the heating cylinder to be movable and rotational. An injection apparatus for transferring melted metals is capable of metering and degassing the melted metal in a reservoir to reserve metals in the liquid phase for injection. The injection apparatus includes a heating cylinder having a metering chamber. An injection screw is movably and rotationally installed within the heating cylinder. A tip end of the injection screw forms a plunger insertable into the metering chamber with a clearance for sliding. The reservoir includes an axial portion free of screw flights between the plunger and a feeding portion that has a screw flight around its axis. A projected portion for limiting the feeding of granular metals flowing to the reservoir and for preventing the metals in liquid phase from flowing backward during injection is provided on a boundary between the feeding portion and the reservoir.

Injection apparatus for melted metals

A method of metering a metal material in a liquid phase in molding injection provides accurate and reliable transfer of the metal material. A heating cylinder housing a rotatable and axially movable screw, is inclined with its head pointing downward, so that the metal material in the liquid phase state flows down into a front chamber due to self-weight. At the forward position after injection, the screw is forced to retract to a set position, whereby a predetermined quantity of a liquid phase material primarily stored on the periphery of the head portion of the screw is accumulated by suction due to a negative pressure in the front chamber of the heating cylinder. Further, a constant quantity of the liquid phase material can be metered each time in the front chamber by stopping and then rotating the screw at a retraction position.

Metering method of metal material in injection molding

The purpose of this invention is to prevent sludge from flowing into a measuring chamber by partitioning the inside of a melt cylinder into a melt stirring part and a molten metal flow passage part, and to stabilize supply of the metallic material and measurement of the molten metal. A nozzle member of which the inside of the rear part is formed into a measuring chamber is attached to the tip of a melt cylinder . The end face of the opening periphery of the measuring chamber of the nozzle member faced to the inside of the melt cylinder is projectingly formed into a ring-shaped bearing . A hollow stirring shaft provided with stirring blades on the outer periphery is supported by the bearing and a bearing member in the rear end of the melt cylinder so as to be freely rotatable with a suction port bored in the side wall of the tip part. An injection rod is put into the stirring shaft and a plunger with a ring valve on the tip is fitted into the measuring chamber so as to be freely movable forwards and backwards. The inside of the melt cylinder is partitioned into a melt stirring part A and a molten metal reservoir B by the stirring shaft . The meting cylinder is installed slantwise on the machine base with the nozzle member side downward to use the tip part as a sludge receiver

Injection device for low melting point metallic material

The invention has an object to permit to make the accumulation amount and the temperature of molten metal in the metal material molding machine constant, by performing material supply and melting taking the accumulation amount as reference during the molding operation. The supply apparatus and the agitation means of metal material at the moment of operation starting are controlled to be inactive until the temperature of the melting vessel attains a predetermined value and to start operating when the predetermined temperature is attained, allowing to supply and agitate the metal material. The supply and the agitation of metal material after the predetermined temperature is attained, are performed while gradually supplying and agitating the metal material until metal material of at least 6 times or more of the maximum injection volume is accumulated in melt state.
