Capacitor elements having an ultra thin dielectric layer are made by the method of cutting a metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate laminated film into a predetermined width, and then separating a metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate film from the cut laminated film and successively forming the separated metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate film into a coil. The metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate laminated film is composed of an oriented ultra thin polyethylene terephthalate film having a thickness of 0.2 to 2.0 .mu.m, on one surface of which a metal layer is formed by vacuum deposition and on the other surface of which a propylene copolymer support film is bonded with an adhesive force of 0.1 to 2.0 g/cm.

Method for making capacitor elements

Capacitor elements having an ultra thin dielectric layer are made by cutting a metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate laminated film into a predetermined width, and then separating a metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate film from the cut laminated film and successively forming the separated metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate film into a coil. The metal-deposited polyethylene terephthalate laminated film is composed of an oriented ultra thin polyethylene terephthalate film having a thickness of 0.2 to 2.0 .mu.m, on one surface of which a metal layer is formed by vacuum deposition and on the other surface of which a support film is bonded with an adhesive force of 0.1 to 2.0 g/cm.

Metal-deposited laminated film and method for making capacitor elements

An oil-immersion electrically insulated cable of high performance is constructed by wrapping a conductor with insulation formed by winding on the conductor polypropylene film having a density in the range of 0.905 to 0.915 g/cm.sup.3, a birefringence in the range of 0.020 to 0.035, a ratio of strengths in two axial directions (tensile strength in the longitudinal direction/tensile strength in the lateral direction) in the range of 5 to 15, and impregnating the insulating layer with an insulating oil, preferably DDB oil.

A magnetic recording material which comprises a film of a polyester and a magnetic layer formed on at least one side of said film, said polyester containing more than 85 mol % of the repeating unit represented by the formula below and having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.3 to 1.4, and said film of said polyester having a refractive index ratio of 0.935 to 0.975 in the thickness direction and a density index of 0.02 to 0.08. ##STR1## (where X is a halogen atom selected from fluorine, chlorine, and bromine, or an alkyl group of carbon number 1 to 3; and l and m are an integer of 1 to 2, p is an integer of 2 to 6, and q is an integer of 2 to 4.) Although the magnetic recording material is extremely thin, it exhibits outstanding running performance and electromagnetic conversion characteristics. It makes it possible to miniaturize the magnetic tape cassette and extend the recording time. It is useful for long-time video tape and portable 8-mm video tape.

Magnetic recording material

A magnetic recording disk is disclosed, which comprises (1) a three-layered laminate consisting of a core layer of a biaxially oriented polyolefin film which has a birefringence of not more than 0.01 and an amorphous-region orientation coefficient of not more than 0.2 and two outer layers of a biaxially oriented polyester film adhereed to the core layer, and (2) a magnetic layer formed on at least one side of the laminate. This magnetic recording disk undergoes only a slight dimensional change with a variation in humidity and temperature, and the dimensional change is isotropic in the plane.

Magnetic recording disk

A three-layered laminated film consisting essentially of (A) a center layer consisting of a crystalline low molecular weight polyolefin having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.5 to 1.4 and (B) two surface layers disposed on both sides of the center layer and each consisting of a crystalline polyolefin (b) having a melting point higher than that of the crystalline low molecular weight polyolefin (a), whereby the thickness of the center layer (A) accounts for 30 to 98%, especially 50 to 85%, of the total thickness of the laminated film. The invention also relates to applications of the laminated film. The laminated film of the invention has excellent finger-tearability and high toughness but little tendency to curl, to whiten when torn, to get turbid and fibrillated, and so forth. The laminated film is effectively used as an adhesive tape or other applications.

Multi-layered polyolefin laminated film

Laminating a stretched thin propylene-ethylene block copolymer layer onto a surface of a laminate film hving a biaxially oriented polypropylene layer and a polypropylene layer uniaxially oriented only in the width direction. The resulting film has improved hand-cutting properties and the surface accepts wiring or drawing and is especially advantageous for use as adhesive tape.

Multilayered polypropylene film

This invention relates to a three-layered polypropylene film consisting of a core layer of biaxially oriented polypropylene sandwiched between ethylene-propylene copolymer layers having a different degree of molecular orientation, shown by birefringence, i.e., birefringence of one copolymer layer is different from that of the other copolymer layer. The film thus prepared has not only a good heat sealing property but also a good resistance against 'hot-tack', 'blocking', and 'scratches'. The film can be provided by a process wherein one copolymer layer is biaxially stretched, while the other copolymer layer is uniaxially stretched. Three-layered films of this invention are particularly suited for making bags with lap sealed parts, where lap sealing is a heat sealing method characterized by heat sealing one side of a film with the other side of the film.
