A multilayer ceramic capacitor includes ceramic layers made of a dielectric material, and internal electrodes made of a conductive material. The internal electrodes are provided with cavities which have an average size ranging from about 1.0 &#x3bc;m to about 10 &#x3bc;m and occupy about 25% to about 75% of an area of each internal electrode. The ceramic layers and the internal electrodes are stacked alternately and each cavity is devoid of the dielectric material and the conductive material.

Multilayer ceramic capacitor

A method of manufacturing a multi-layer ceramic electronic part involves the steps of preparing an unbaked laminated body containing a ceramic layer and internal electrodes laminated on one another, applying and drying a conductor, into which is added a material common with a ceramic forming the ceramic layer of the laminated body, on edge portions of the unbaked laminated body, forming external electrodes in contact with the internal electrodes at end surfaces of the laminated body, and baking the laminated body.

Method for manufacturing multi layer ceramic components

A multi-layer ceramic electronic part is made up of a laminated body in which a ceramic layer and internal electrodes laminated on one another, and external electrodes are provided at end portions of the laminated body. The internal electrodes reach to one of at least a pair of edges of the ceramic layer and oppose each other, thereby leading the internal electrodes to end surfaces of the laminated body and connecting the internal electrodes to the external electrodes. Pillar-like ceramic portions, continuous in a direction of thickness of a conductor film forming the external electrodes, are scattered in the conductor film. The ceramic portions of the external electrodes are formed so that they are continuous from an inner surface of the conductor film of the external electrodes, where they closely contact with a surface on the laminated body, up to an upper surface thereof. With this multi-layer ceramic electronic part, cracks due to heat-shock can be prevented from occurring within the laminated body, and also the property in soldering of the external electrode can be kept in good condition.

A monolithic capacitor having a dielectric ceramic body cosintered with at least two base metal electrodes. The ceramic body is composed of a major ingredient expressed by the formula,

Solid dielectric capacitor and method of manufacture

A monolithic capacitor having a dielectric ceramic body cosintered with at least two base metal electrodes. The ceramic body is composed of a major ingredient expressed by the formula, (1-.alpha.){(Ba.sub.k-x M.sub.x)O.sub.k TiO.sub.2 }+.alpha.CaZrO.sub.3 where M is either or both of calcium and strontium, and .alpha., k and y are numerals in specified ranges. To this major ingredient is added a minor proportion of a mixture of lithium oxide, silicon dioxide and at least one metal oxide selected from among barium oxide, strontium oxide, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide and zinc oxide. For the fabrication of capacitors the mixture of the above major ingredients and additives in finely divided form are formed into moldings of desired shape and size, each with at least two electrodes buried therein. The moldings and electrodes are cosintered in a reductive or neutral atmosphere at temperatures of less than 1200.degree. C. and then are reheated at a lower temperature in an oxidative atmosphere.

A two-layered metal oxide film resistor having a ceramic substrate which has on its surface a first thin (0.1-5 .mu.m) metal oxide film that is based on tin oxide and which has a minor proportion of at least one auxiliary component selected from iron, indium, nickel, phosphorus, zinc, cadmium and antimony, and a second thin (0.003-1 .mu.m) metal oxide film superposed on the first film that is also based on tin oxide but which contains a minor proportion of at least one auxiliary component selected from antimony, nickel, chromium, fluorine, phosphorus, arsenic, iron, manganese, barium, bismuth, cobalt, zinc, copper, boron, cadmium and vanadium.
