This invention provides a simple projector system that can be operated by a user who is not an expert of image processing technology. The projector system comprises a projector (), a personal computer (), a mouse (), and a calibration board (). A checker flag pattern is added to the calibration board (), and an intersection point serves as a marker. A cursor, which is projected from the projector () onto the calibration board (), is used as an intuitive input interface. An operator, while seeing the cursor, operates the mouse (), thereby placing the cursor onto the calibration marker. In this state, the operator clicks the mouse (), thereby selecting the calibration marker. The operator then acquires the corresponding projection image coordinates on the basis of the selection instruction.

Projector system and calibration board

Provided is a stethoscopy training system which is inexpensive and has a simple configuration, without using a device which measures a respiratory operation of a simulated patient. The stethoscopy training system for this objective is formed from: a simulated stethoscope () having a sound acquisition unit further comprising a location display means (), a tube, and ear pipes; a location sensing means () for sensing the location of the sound acquisition unit; biological sound database (); a biological sound reproducing means (); and a timing display means () for displaying a timing of a repetition of a reproduced respiratory sound. The database retains as information biological sounds which are prerecorded from actual patients in correspondence with chest locations. The biological sound reproducing means further comprises a voice reproducing apparatus (), extracts prescribed biological sound information from the database according to the sound acquisition unit location which the location sensing means has sensed, and emits a reproduced biological sound from the voice reproducing apparatus, which a trainee hears via the ear pipes. The simulated patient views the timing display means and matches his or her respiratory operation to a reproduced respiratory sound.

Stethoscopy training system and simulated stethoscope

A body cavity observation apparatus includes a treatment tool to be inserted into a body cavity of a subject with an insertion tool as a guide, an observation section attached to an opening of a body wall of the subject, a monitor for displaying the body cavity captured by the observation section, and a marker position-detecting device for detecting a position of a marker part applied to the treatment tool or insertion tool from an image showing the body cavity captured by the observation section. The marker position-detecting device includes a pixel extracting device for extracting a group of pixels in the same color as the color of the marker part from the image and a calculation device for calculating a position of the barycenter of the group of pixels as a position of the marker part. The pixel extracting device extracts a pixel whose output value of a color component included in a color of the marker part among R, G, and B output values outputted from an image pickup device of the observation section is bigger than an output value of a color component that is not included in a color of the marker part by a predetermined threshold of the group of pixels.

Observation apparatus that detects position of a treatment tool from an image

According to a body cavity interior observing apparatus of the present invention, a non-tracked region to be displayed can be switched between a first non-tracked region and a second non-tracked region which is larger than the first non-tracked region, and in a search for an affected area in which it is preferable to track a treating instrument in order to consistently align the position of treating instrument to the central part of the screen, the first non-tracked region having a smaller non-tracked region is selected, while in a treatment of an affected area in which a treating instrument is moved in a wide range of area, the second non-tracked region having a larger non-tracked region is selected, thereby an appropriate monitor screen can be provided in searching for an affected area and in treating an affected area.

Body cavity interior observing apparatus

An image feature analysis section performs image feature analysis of an input image to generate an image feature quantity independent from image coordinates. An image content densification section information densifies the image feature quantity to generate a densified image feature quantity. An image generation section generates, based on the densified image feature quantity, an image in which the information content of the input image is densified.
