A traction control system for a vehicle with an automatic transmission eliminates acceleration slip of wheels by fuel-cut for stopping fuel supply to an engine upon occurrence of the acceleration slip. The automatic transmission is inhibited from shifting upon occurrence of an acceleration slip for which the fuel cut is carried out, so as to hold a current shift range, prevent the engine speed from lowering down to a fuel recovery speed, and thereby avoid occurrence of hunting of the traction control.

Vehicle traction control system

A line pressure control system for an automatic transmission wherein a shift range is determined by selectively engaging friction elements by means of a line pressure controlled according to an input torque of said automatic transmission. In the present invention, an engine output torque at the front stage of the automatic transmission is estimated from the operating condition. The input torque of the automatic transmission is calculated from the estimated engine output torque and the operation state of a torque converter. The calculated input torque of the automatic transmission is decreased during a predetermined time corresponding to an estimation response delay of the engine output torque after the engine is made in a no-load state, so as to properly control the line pressure.

Line pressure control system for automatic transmission

A device for limiting slip of a torque converter at its high temperature condition performs a slip limiting control by reducing slip rotation between an input element and an output element of the torque converter in a low-load operation region of an engine is carried out, or a lockup control for eliminating the slip rotation. The region of the slip control is expanded to a high-load operation region of the engine, when the temperature of torque converter hydraulic oil is not lower than a predetermined temperature.
