A vehicle pillar structure including a first column, a second column, and a transparent member. The first column includes a first framework member in a substantially plate shape extending along a vehicle vertical direction, and a second framework member in a substantially plate shape extending along the vehicle vertical direction and opposite the first framework member. The second column is at the vehicle rear side of the first column with a spacing between the first column and the second column, and includes a third framework member in a substantially plate shape extending along the vehicle vertical direction, and a fourth framework member in a substantially plate shape extending along the vehicle vertical direction, and opposite the third framework member. The transparent member spans between the first column and the second column, and enables outside of a vehicle to be seen when viewed from a driving seat side.

Vehicle pillar structure

A front pillar structure includes a front side pillar frame member and rear side pillar frame member that structure a front pillar, a transparent member, a first joining portion and a second joining portion. The transparent member spans between the front side pillar frame member and the rear side pillar frame member and also structures the front pillar. At the first joining portion, an upper end portion of the front side pillar frame member is joined to a roof side rail that is disposed at a vehicle width direction outer side of a roof panel. At the second joining portion, an upper end portion of the rear side pillar frame member is joined to a rail outer panel. The first joining portion and the second joining portion are formed at the vehicle rear side relative to a front end portion of the roof panel.

A battery mounting structure for a vehicle includes: a battery frame made of fiber reinforced resin and fastened and fixed to a vehicle body via a plurality of first fastening portions; a battery fastened and fixed to the battery frame via a plurality of second fastening portions; and a ductile member provided between the first fastening portion and the second fastening portion.

A front vehicle body structure includes: a front side member that is arranged on a side portion of a front vehicle body longitudinally in a vehicle front-rear direction; a bumper reinforcement that is arranged longitudinally in a vehicle width direction, that is connected directly or indirectly to a front end of the front side member, and that includes a protruding portion that protrudes more outward in the vehicle width direction than the front side member; and a high-strength member that is formed with a higher strength than the protruding portion, that is mounted to a rear-surface side of the protruding portion, and that is formed such that a dimension in the vehicle front-rear direction is increased as the high-strength member extends more outward in the vehicle width direction.

Front vehicle body structure

A formed article for a vehicle body structural member includes: a first gradually varying portion that is curved around an axis extending in a width direction of a top wall portion and the width of the top wall portion varies; and a second gradually varying portion in which the width of a leg wall portion varies so as to cancel the variation in the width of the top wall portion in the first gradually varying portion. The shape of a gradually-varying-portion ridge that is a boundary between the first gradually varying portion and the second gradually varying portion is made substantially the same both in a plan view that is viewed along the thickness direction of the top wall portion and in a side view that is viewed along the width direction of the top wall portion.

Formed article for vehicle body structural member

Curved portions are formed on a first vertical wall portion that continues from a headwall portion and curved portions are formed on a second vertical wall portion that continues from the headwall portion. A difference in the linear length on the first vertical wall portion side before forming and after forming is cancelled out (i.e., absorbed) by the sum of the amounts that the curved portions protrude. Similarly, a difference in the linear length on the second vertical wall portion side before forming and after forming is cancelled out (i.e., absorbed) by the sum of the amounts that the curved portions protrude. As a result, tensile stress on the first vertical wall portion side and compression stress on the second vertical wall portion side can be prevented or minimized.

Formed part for vehicle body structural member

A roof weather strip for use in a convertible car is composed of a plurality of weather strip pieces corresponding to the folding of a sliding roof thereof. When the sliding roof is unfolded to form a roof of the convertible car, longitudinal end parts of adjacent roof weather strip pieces contact each other to define a continuously extending roof weather strip for sealing a side edge of the sliding roof. Each of the weather strip pieces has a base portion, a tubular door glass-sealing portion, and a sliding roof-sealing portion. In each of the longitudinal end parts, the sliding roof-sealing portion is formed tubular, and the tubular sliding roof-sealing portion and the tubular door glass-sealing portion are closed with end faces, respectively, which are provided in each of the longitudinal end parts.

Roof weather strip for convertible car

An energy absorbing structure for an automobile comprises a metal bracket interposed between a roofside rail and an assist grip. The bracket has longitudinal end portions fixed to the roofside rail on the compartment side, and a deformable portion extending between the end portions, to which the assist grip is connected. The deformable portion deforms toward the outside of the compartment to provide energy absorption when an outward load larger than a predetermined load acts on the assist grip. A pair of reinforcing members are formed integrally with the deformable portion which extends along the longitudinal axis of the bracket.

Energy absorbing structure for automobile

An energy absorbing structure of a vehicle body upper portion of an automobile, including a roofside rail (20) forming a closed sectional space (28) by an outer panel (24) and an inner panel (26), and an assist grip (22) disposed in the inward of the roofside rail is described. The energy absorbing structure includes a metal energy absorbing bracket (32) disposed in the closed sectional space deformable outwardly of the passenger compartment. The assist grip (22) is mounted on an intermediate portion (36) of an energy absorbing bracket and supported by support means (42) passing through a hole (40) made in the inner panel.
