An electric stapler includes a binding unit configured to perform binding processing on a sheet bundle by sequentially executing a clamping process of clamping the sheet bundle, a penetration process of penetrating a staple through the clamped sheet bundle, and a clinching process of pressing leg portions of the staple penetrating through the sheet bundle, a motor configured to drive the binding unit, and a controller configured to control the motor. The controller is configured to control the motor to execute the clamping on the sheet bundle or the pressing on the leg portions multiple times in the clamping process.

Electric stapler and sheet processing apparatus

This invention relates to a clip with which sheets can be fastened without being pricked. A plurality of long-and-narrow rectangular plate-like clips to be used in a clipping apparatus are arranged to be spaced away from the neighboring clips in parallel. The plurality of plate-like clips are connected by connecting members, and the connected unit of the clips is wound into a roll so that the connecting members are positioned outside the roll.

A binding device for binding a stack of sheets with a bind member in which parallel legs extend perpendicularly from a straight portion, the binding device comprises: a driver plate which drives the straight portion of the bind member toward the legs; curved shaping guide grooves which are formed to respectively correspond to the legs; and a fulcrum member which is disposed in the vicinity of and inside one end of each of the shaping guide grooves, and which constitutes shaping fulcrums, the shaping fulcrums respectively engaging with side faces of the legs of the bind member which is driven out toward the one end of each of the shaping guide grooves, thereby bendingly shaping the legs, and, during a period after the bind member is driven out and before the legs are formed into ring-like shapes by the fulcrum member and the shaping guide grooves, the legs are passed through punched holes formed in an edge portion of each of sheets.
