A plating layer (or vapor deposition layer) which exhibits a metallic color is formed on the surface of a molded resin part. A color film with transmittance which is molded and which has a desired color for design is formed on the surface of the above plating layer (or vapor deposition layer). This color film comprises moldable materials such as resin including, for example, polymer compounds such as PET, PC, urethane or combinations of these. Thereby, a press button switch can be gained which imparts a feeling of high quality through a metallic finish design, of which the degree of design freedom is high and which can prevent color unevenness of the key top from occurring.

The generation of noise due the excitation of electronic circuits on a printed circuit board disposed in close proximity to the rear face of an EL as a result of a high voltage alternating current is prevented by the formation of a shield layer on the rear face of the EL.

An illuminated button including a key button and an electroluminescent light (EL) for illuminating the key button from its bottom. The key button is composed of a silicone rubber material mixed with white color particles which prevent, while the EL is inoperative, a pink light reflected from the EL from being projected to the outside through the key button. This makes possible to solve a problem of a conventional illuminated button, which includes a key button and a white light EL used as a backlight, in that the pink color of the EL is seen from the outside through the key button, and this spoils the beauty of the illuminated button.

Stress exerted on a liquid crystal display element via a case was likely to impede display on the liquid crystal display element, or damage a liquid crystal display device. A front end of a rib 9 protruding toward a case 1 from a peripheral edge portion of a holder 8 supporting a liquid crystal display element 4 is brought into contact with the case 1, whereby stress on the case 1 is imposed on the rib 9. Thus, stress directly acting on the liquid crystal display element 4 via a rubber sheet 7 can be prevented.

Display device

A lighted switch illuminator which solves a problem of a conventional device in that it was difficult to reduce its thickness and size because the electroluminescent (EL) layer functioning as an illuminator is adhered to a separate film click board. An EL layer is directly formed on a film click board by stacking its layers (consisting of a transparent electrode layer, a light emitting layer, a dielectric layer, a rear electrode layer and an insulation layer) in order excluding hollow convex portions of the film click board. Upper contacts and lower contacts are formed on the film click board and a printed board, respectively, such that they face each other. Depressing a key button pushes the corresponding hollow convex portion so that the upper contact and the corresponding lower contact are brought into conduction, in which case a good clicking feeling is obtained because the EL layer is not formed on the back of the hollow convex portions. Since the film click board is an integral part of the electroluminescent light, the thickness of the illuminator can be reduced.

A waterproof casing for an electronic equipment includes a box-shaped case member and a plane-shaped cover member including a sheet-form sealing gasket extending from the overall periphery of the cover member. The cover member is inserted and fixed to the case member with the gasket sliding into and pressing against the inner surface of the case member to secure a tight waterproof seal. The cover member also can be partially plate-shaped and partially box-shaped. The waterproof casing structure reduces the size, particularly height, of the casing and simplifies assembly.

As a result, the distance between the radio telephone device body and the receiver unit can be adjusted according to whether the device is being used as a telephone unit or a pager unit. While being used as a telephone, the distance between a receiver and a microphone can be easily adjusted to the distance between an ear and a mouth of a user. When the device is used as a paper, it can be miniaturized so as to be conveniently carried.
