Aluminum alloy sheet for battery lid use having suitable strength and excellent in formability and work softenability, which aluminum alloy sheet for battery lid use enabling formation of an integrated explosion-proof valve with little variation in operating pressure and excellent in cyclic fatigue resistance, and a method of production of the same are provided, the aluminum alloy sheet for battery lid use for forming an integrated explosion-proof valve having a component composition containing Fe: 1.05 to 1.50 mass %, Mn: 0.15 to 0.70 mass %, Ti: 0.002 to 0.15 mass %, and B: less than 0.04 mass %, having a balance of Al and impurities, having an Fe/Mn ratio restricted to 1.8 to 7.0, restricting, as impurities, Si to less than 0.40 mass %, Cu to less than 0.03 mass %, Mg to less than 0.05 mass %, and V to less than 0.03 mass %, having a tensile strength of 95 MPa or more, having a value of elongation of 40% or more, having a recrystallized structure, having a value of (TS95&#x2212;TS80) of less than &#x2212;3 MPa when defining a tensile strength after cold rolling by a rolling reduction of 80% as TS80 and defining a tensile strength after cold rolling by a rolling reduction of 95% as TS95, and having a value of elongation after cold rolling by a rolling reduction of 90% of 5.0% or more. Furthermore, an average grain size of the recrystallized grains of the recrystallized structure is preferably 15 to 30 &#x3bc;m.

Aluminum alloy sheet for battery lid use for forming integrated explosion-proof valve and method of production of same

An aluminum alloy sheet includes an aluminum alloy substrate having a composition containing, by mass percentage, 3.0 to 4.0% of magnesium, 0.2 to 0.4% of manganese, 0.1 to 0.5% of iron, not less than 0.03% but less than 0.10% of copper, and less than 0.20% of silicon, with the remainder being aluminum and unavoidable impurities. A peak concentration of a copper concentration distribution in a thickness direction in a region at a depth of 15 nm to 200 nm from the surface of the aluminum alloy substrate is equal to or more than 0.15%, and the aluminum alloy substrate has a recrystallized structure with an average grain size of 15 &#x3bc;m or less.

Aluminum alloy sheet and method for manufacturing same

An aluminum alloy sheet which has high strength enabling application to automobile body sheet and which is excellent in press-formability and shape fixability and a method of production of the same are provided. Aluminum alloy sheet excellent in press-formability and shape fixability and method of production of same

An aluminum alloy sheet for motor vehicles is produced by casting a melt, containing 3.0-3.5 mass % Mg, 0.05-0.3 mass % Fe, 0.05-0.15 mass % Si, and less than 0.1 mass % Mn, a balance substantially being inevitable impurities and Al, into a slab having a thickness of 5 to 15 mm in a twin-belt caster so that cooling rate at &#xbc; depth of thickness of the slab is 20 to 200&#xb0; C./sec; winding the cast thin slab into a coiled thin slab subjected to cold rolling with a roll having a surface roughness of 0.2 to 0.7 &#x3bc;m Ra at a cold rolling reduction of 50 to 98%; subjecting the cold rolled sheet to final annealing either continuously in a CAL at a holding temperature of 400 to 520&#xb0; C. within 5 minutes or in a batch annealing furnace at a holding temperature of 300 to 400&#xb0; C. for 1 to 8 hours; and subjecting the resulting sheet to straightening with a leveler.

Process for producing an aluminum alloy sheet for motor vehicle

An aluminum alloy sheet is manufactured by preparing a slab having a thickness of 5 to 15 mm with a continuous casting machine by a continuous casting process using molten alloy containing 0.40% to 0.65% of Mg, 0.50% to 0.75% of Si, 0.05% to 0.20% of Cr, and 0.10% to 0.40% of Fe, a remainder being Al; winding the slab into a coil; cold-rolling the slab into a sheet; subjecting the sheet to solution heat treatment in such a manner that the sheet is heated to a temperature of 530&#xb0; C. to 560&#xb0; C. at a heating rate of 10&#xb0; C./sec or more and then maintained at the temperature for five seconds or more; quenching the sheet with water; coiling up the sheet; maintaining the sheet at a temperature of 60&#xb0; C. to 110&#xb0; C. for 3 to 12 hours; and then cooling the sheet to room temperature.

Aluminum alloy sheet and method for manufacturing the same

An aluminum alloy sheet having excellent press formability and stress corrosion cracking resistance, comprises 3.3 to 3.6 percent by weight of Mg and 0.1 to 0.2 percent by weight of Mn, furthermore, 0.05 to 0.3 percent by weight of Fe and 0.05 to 0.15 percent by weight of Si, and the remainder comprises Al and incidental impurities, wherein the sizes of intermetallic compounds is 5 &#x3bc;m or less, the recrystallized grain size is 15 &#x3bc;m or less in the region at a depth of 10 to 30 &#x3bc;m below the sheet surface, and the surface roughness is Ra 0.2 to 0.7 &#x3bc;m.

[PROBLEMS] To provide an aluminum alloy fin material for a heat exchanger, which has high strength and high heat conductivity after brazing, and is excellent in the resistance to sagging, erosion and self-corrosion and the in the sacrificial anode effect. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method for producing an aluminum alloy fin material for a heat exchanger which comprises providing a molten aluminum alloy having a chemical composition, in wt %, that Si: 0.5 to 1.5%, Fe: 0.15 to 1.00%, Mn: 0.8 to 3.0%, Zn: 0.5 to 2.5%, with the proviso that the content of Mg as an impurity is limited to 0.05 wt % or less, and the balance: Al and inevitable impurities, casting the molten alloy continuously into a thin slab having a thickness of 5 to 10 mm by the use of a twin belt casting machine, winding up the slab into a roll, cold-rolling the slab into a sheet having a thickness of 0.05 to 2.0 mm, subjecting the sheet to an inter annealing at 350 to 500&#xb0; C., and cold-rolling the annealed sheet with a cold reduction rate of 10 to 96%, to prepare a sheet having a final thickness of 40 to 200 &#x3bc;m, and optionally subjecting the final sheet to a final annealing (a softening process) at a holding temperature of 300 to 400&#xb0; C.

High strength aluminum alloy fin material for heat exchanger and method for production thereof

[PROBLEMS] To provide an aluminum alloy fin material for a heat exchanger, which has high strength and high heat conductivity after brazing, and is excellent in the resistance to sagging, erosion and self-corrosion and the in the sacrificial anode effect. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A method for producing an aluminum alloy fin material for a heat exchanger which comprises providing a molten aluminum alloy having a chemical composition, in wt %, that Si: 0.5 to 1.5%, Fe: 0.15 to 1.0%, Mn: 0.8 to 3.0%, Zn: 0.5 to 2.5%, with the proviso that the content of Mg as an impurity is limited to 0.05 wt % or less, and the balance: Al and inevitable impurities, casting the molten alloy continuously into a thin slab having a thickness of 5 to 10 mm by the use of a twin belt casting machine, winding up the slab into a roll, cold-rolling the slab into a sheet having a thickness of 0.05 to 2.0 mm, subjecting the sheet to an inter annealing at 350 to 500&#xb0; C., and cold-rolling the annealed sheet with a cold reduction rate of 10 to 96%, to prepare a sheet having a final thickness of 40 to 200 &#x3bc;m, and optionally subjecting the final sheet to a final annealing (a softening process) at a holding temperature of 300 to 400&#xb0; C.

High strength aluminum alloy sheet having superior surface roughening and formability suitable for home electrical appliances and automobile outer panels and other structural materials and a method of production of the same are provided. High strength aluminum alloy sheet having a chemical composition containing Mg: 2.0 to 3.3 mass %, Mn: 0.1 to 0.5 mass %, and Fe: 0.2 to 1.0 mass %, having a balance of unavoidable impurities and Al, and having an Si among the unavoidable impurities of less than 0.20 mass % and having an average circle equivalent diameter of intermetallic compounds of 1 &#x3bc;m or less, having an area ratio of intermetallic compounds of 1.2% or more, having an average diameter of recrystallized grains of 10 &#x3bc;m or less, and having a tensile strength of 220 MPa or more. This is obtained by pouring an aluminum alloy melt having the above chemical composition in a twin belt caster, continuously casting a thin slab of a thickness of 6 to 15 mm at a cooling rate at a position of &#xbc; the slab thickness of 50 to 200&#xb0; C./sec and winding it up into a coil, then cold rolling it at a cold reduction of 60 to 98%, final annealing it by a continuous annealing furnace at a heating rate of 100&#xb0; C./min or more, at a holding temperature of 400 to 520&#xb0; C. for a holding time of within 5 minutes.

High strength aluminum alloy sheet and method of production of same

An aluminum alloy foil is formed from an alloy containing about 1.2 to 1.7% by weight Fe and about 0.35 to 0.80% by weight Si, with the balance aluminum and incidental impurities. The alloy is continuously strip cast to form a strip having a thickness less than about 25 mm, which is then cold rolled to interanneal gauge and interannealed at a temperature of at least 400&deg; C. The interannealed strip is cold rolled and further annealed to form the final foil product, having excellent rollability combined with high strength of the final foil.

Production of aluminum alloy foils having high strength and good rollability

An improved aluminum alloy fin stock is described having both a high strength and a high thermal conductivity. The fin stock contains 1.2-1.8% Fe, 0.7-0.95% Si, 0.3-0.5% Mn, 0.3-1.2% Zn and the balance Al, and is produced by continuously strip casting the alloy at a cooling rate greater than 10&deg; C./sec. but less than 200&deg; C./sec., hot rolling the strip to a re-roll sheet without homogenization, cold rolling the re-roll sheet to an intermediate gauge, annealing the sheet and cold rolling the sheet to final gauge. This fin stock has a conductivity after brazing of greater than 49.8% IACS.

High conductivity aluminum fin alloy

A method of producing an aluminum alloy fin stock material, comprising the steps of continuously strip casting an aluminum finstock alloy to form an as-cast strip, rolling the as-cast strip to form a sheet article of intermediate gauge, annealing the sheet article of intermediate gauge, and cold rolling the annealed sheet article of intermediate gauge to produce an aluminum finstock material of final gauge. The steps are carried out on a finstock alloy which comprises the following elements in weight percent: Fe 1.6 to 2.4; Si 0.7 to 1.1; Mn 0.3 to 0.6; Zn 0.3 to 2.0; Ti 0.005 to 0.040; incidental elements less than 0.05 each, total no more than 0.15; and the balance aluminum. The invention also relates to the finstock material so-produced which has good thermal conductivity, and is suitable for use in thin gauge (e.g. less than 100 &mgr;m, and preferably 60&plusmn;10 &mgr;m).

High thermal conductivity aluminum fin alloys

An aluminum alloy fin stock of lower (more negative) corrosion potential and higher thermal conductivity is produced by a process, which comprises continuously strip casting the alloy to form a strip, cold rolling the strip to an intermediate gauge sheet, annealing the sheet and cold rolling the sheet to final gauge. Lower corrosion potential and higher thermal conductivity are imparted by carrying out the continuous strip casting while cooling the alloy at a rate of at least 300.degree. C./second, e.g. by conducting the casting step in a twin-roll caster.
