A plastic lens array including the following members which are formed integrally as one block by a plastic material; a lens array body member; a plurality of object convex lenses into which the light from an object is made incident, the object convex lenses being arranged side by side in one row along one side of the lens array body member; a plurality of image convex lenses corresponding to the object convex lenses, and being arranged side by side in a row along an opposite side of the lens array body member; a plurality of image inverting portions corresponding to the object convex lenses, each of the image inverting portions having a pair of roof surfaces which are substantially normal to each other to invert the image of an object; a first reflecting surface arranged at the backs of the object convex lenses, for totally reflecting the incident light of an object through the object convex lenses with an angle exceeding a critical angle and for guiding the reflected light of the object to a roof surface in each pair of the roof surfaces; and a second reflecting surface arranged at the backs of the image convex lenses, for totally reflecting the inverted light of an object from the other roof surface in each pair of the roof surfaces with an angle exceeding the critical angle and for guiding the reflected light of an object to the image convex lenses.

Plastic lens array

In a rhodium electrical contact of a switch, particularly a reed switch, from 0.1 to 10 atomic % of Ag is included in the electrical contact. The electrical contact of the invention has a long life under a various loading conditions from a non-working condition, where an electric current is neither conducted nor broken by the switch, to a working condition, where erosion of the electrical contact is caused by short arcs between members of the electrical contact.

Rhodium electrical contact of a switch particularly a reed switch

A switch is disclosed comprising two sets of rod-shaped fixed electrodes formed of a magnetic material and one cylindrical moving electrode formed of a permanent magnet, each set of the fixed electrodes being fixed to the respective end of a cylindrical vessel so that the ends of each set of the fixed electrodes face the ends of the other set of the fixed electrodes with the moving electrode capable of reciprocating between the ends of the two sets of fixed electrodes inside the cylindrical vessel. The moving electrode is comprised of at least one adhesive layer of a metal selected from the group consisting of silver, nickel, copper and alloys thereof on the surface of the permanent magnet, and at least one contact layer of a metal selected from the group consisting of rhodium, wolfram, rhenium, ruthenium and alloys thereof, silver-wolfram, gold-chromium on the adhesive layer of metal. At least the permanent magnet of the moving electrode and the adhesive layer of metal are thermally diffused with each other.

Switch

Electrical contacts are produced by processes comprising (1) forming on a metallic body a first layer of low melting metal(s) and (2) forming on the first layer a second layer of high melting metal(s). The thus produced contacts possess prolonged life, approximately 10 times that of conventional contacts when they are operated as working contact.

Electrical contact and process of manufacture

A niobium containing alloy amterial is initially annealed in a hydrogen atmosphere at a temperature approximating 700.degree. C. The alloy material is then immersed in an aqueous solution of approximately between 1.0%-20.0% by weight of sodium hydroxide being maintained at a temperature of at least 70.degree. C. Immersion of the alloy material in the aqueous solution removes niobium oxide which is formed in the surface portion of the alloy material during the annealing step. After removal of the alloy material from the aqueous solution, the alloy material is plated on its surface with an electric contact material.
