A driving assistance system includes a history storage unit, a behavior detecting unit, a state determining unit, and a notifying unit. The history storage unit stores a behavior history which is a past behavior history of a driver. The behavior detecting unit detects a current behavior of the driver. The state determining unit determines an unsafe state by comparing the transition of the behavior detected by the behavior detecting unit with the behavior history of the driver corresponding to a current driving path. If the state determining unit determines the unsafe state, the notifying unit gives notification to the driver.

A speech section detection apparatus capable of reliably detecting a speech section even for a word containing a glottal stop sound or for a word containing a succession of 's' column sounds or 'h' column sounds (sounds in the third column or the sixth column in the Japanese Goju-on Zu syllabary table). A speech signal detected by a microphone is amplified by a line amplifier, and converted by an analog/digital converter into a digital signal which is then stored in a memory. The stored speech signal is fetched into a pitch detector where a speech pitch is extracted by processing the speech signal in time domain. A gate signal generator controls the gate signal based on the speech pitch, and a speech section signal generator controls a speech section signal based on the gate signal. A word can be extracted by segmenting the speech signal stored in the memory in accordance with the speech section signal.

A digital broadcasting receiver for changing a current channel from one channel to another channel when a commercial message is broadcast on the one channel on which a program is being watched. The time after changing the current channel is measured by a timer IC. When a predetermined time has passed, the current channel is returned to the one channel in response to the operation of a switch or the voice input from a microphone by a user. The program on the one channel is recorded in an RAM so that the program can be reproduced when the user wants to watch the program retroactively. As soon as the predetermined time has passed, an audio output processing section forms a voice message and informs the user of the fact from the speaker so as to draw the attention of the user to the fact.

As in a compartment of an automotive vehicle, when a left- and a right-channel loudspeakers are disposed at angularly different positions from each other with respect to a frontward direction of a listening position, there will be formed a sound field laterally asymmetric with respect to the frontward direction of the listening position. In order to correct the asymmetry of the sound field, a crosstalk signal obtained by correcting the phase and the level of an acoustic signal of the left-channel from an acoustic signal source and a crosstalk adjustment signal obtained by correcting the level of the acoustic signal of the left-channel are fed to the right loudspeaker, or a center loudspeaker disposed between the left and right loudspeakers, together with an acoustic signal of the right-channel from the acoustic signal source. Similarly, a crosstalk signal obtained by correcting the phase and the level of an acoustic signal of the right-channel and a crosstalk adjustment signal obtained by correcting the level of the acoustic signal of the right-channel are fed to the left or center loudspeaker together with the acoustic signal of the left-channel from the acoustic signal source.

An apparatus for correcting asymmetrical sound fields at a listener's position as in an automotive vehicle compartment in which right and left loudspeakers are disposed at positions angularly different relative to the listener's position, wherein stereo-sound signals from an acoustic signal source are output as acoustic signals of fundamental sounds to the right and left loudspeakers and, at same time, effective sounds, such as early reflection and reverberation sounds, are formed for right and left channels by arithmetically processing the acoustic signals of fundamental sounds, which acoustic signals of right- and left-channel effective sounds are outputted respectively to the right and left loudspeakers respectively. Furthermore, a signal which corrects at least one of the phase and level of the left-channel acoustic signal of fundamental sound, and a signal which corrects at least one of the phase and level of the left-channel acoustic signal of effective sound are supplied to the right channel loudspeaker or a center channel loudspeaker disposed between the right and left loudspeakers. Likewise, signals which corrects at least one of the phase and level of the right-channel acoustic signal of fundamental sound and of the right-channel acoustic signal of effective sound are supplied to the left channel loudspeaker or the center channel loudspeaker.

A center loudspeaker is disposed near the middle between the left channel loudspeaker arranged at the front left side of the compartment and the right channel loudspeaker at the front right side, and this center loudspeaker transforms into a sound by the level-controlled signal of the sum of the acoustic signals of the right and left channels, and phase- and level-controlled signals of the acoustic signals of the right and left channels. As a result, the sound field is localized in the front of the listener, and right and left symmetrical wide-spread sound fields may be composed. Additionally, tweeters are disposed outside the right and left channel loudspeakers, and the mounting angles of the tweeters are adjusted so that the sounds released from the tweeters may be at an equal sound pressure level between the listener at the driver's seat and the listener at the front side seat. As a result, the drift of the sound field in the medium and high sound ranges may be eliminated in a simple structure, and right and left symmetrical wide-spread sound field are composed. Furthermore, corresponding to the opening or closing state of the window glass or seated position, by controlling the phase and level of the sounds released from the loudspeakers and the tweeters, sound fields always symmetrical to the listening position and spread widely may be composed.
