In a vehicle power steering device, a motor is turned on to rotate in one direction whether a steering wheel is turned clockwise or counterclockwise. A switching mechanism is interposed between a motor armature shaft and an output shaft to change directions of the output shaft rotation relative to the armature shaft rotation in response to turning direction of the steering. The switching mechanism may include electrically controlled coupling/releasing members or mechanically controlled rotation reversing and coupling mechanisms.

Electrically driven power assisting device

A braking force controller for an electric vehicle properly carries out an anti-lock braking operation by keeping a slip ratio in a stable range. The vehicle has a motor 1 to drive wheels. A central controller 4 calculates regenerative energy according to output signals from an ammeter 51 and a voltmeter 52. If a brake sensor 62 detects a sudden braking operation, the central controller 4 controls the regenerative braking force of the motor 1 through a motor controller 2, to maintain the regenerative energy around a maximal value.

Braking force controller for electric vehicle

In order to keep the braking torque of a motor always maximal and to execute suitable ABS regenerative braking, a controller of an electric car has a motor (1) connected to the road wheels, and its central controller confirms that regenerative energy calculated from output signals from an ammeter (51) and from a volt meter (52) after the braking operation begins reaches a maximum value, and stores a braking torque calculation value obtained from a signal from a motor number-of-revolution sensor (63), as a maximum braking torque value. When the difference between the braking torque command value applied to the motor (1) and the braking torque calculation value exists within a predetermined range, the braking torque command value is thereafter increased or decreased in accordance with the difference between the maximum braking torque value described above and a present braking torque calculation value, and when the difference is out of this predetermined range, the braking torque command value is decreased.

Braking force controller and control method for electric car

A power source apparatus for vehicles comprises first and second switch means respectively for controlling charging currents flowing from a rectifier of a generator to first and second batteries having equal open terminal voltages, and third switch means for controlling a current flowing through a field winding of the generator. The third switch means is controlled to be turned on/off in response to whichever of the voltages generated respectively by the first and second batteries is lower. The first and second switch means are controlled to be turned on/off on the basis of a duty factor set based on a voltage difference between the first and second batteries. When the voltage of the first battery becomes equal to or less than a predetermined voltage, that voltage being the lowest voltage that a starter motor needs to satisfactorily start an engine, the duty factor of the first switch means is made larger to charge the first battery with priority irrespective of whether the voltage of the first battery is larger than the voltage of the second battery or not.

Power source apparatus for vehicles

The present invention supplies electric power from a battery to a starter and other specific electrical loads which are driven together with the starter with reduced power requirements on the battery. A driving apparatus for controlling an electric load is provided with a battery (1) for supplying the electric power to a starter motor (3) and an electric heater (20) which is attached to a catalyst for cleaning up exhaust gases from the engine. The terminal voltage of the battery (1) during starter motor (3) operation is detected, and the rate of on-off operation to supply the current to the electric heater (20) is controlled by means of a heater controller (5) in accordance with the detected terminal voltage. This conduction timing control is effected by a control circuit (40), being started a first specific time after the start of operation of the starter motor (3) and being ended a second specific time after the end of operation of the starter motor (3).

Driving apparatus for controlling an electric load in a vehicle

A static shock eliminator adapted for use in attachment to a conductive grounding object such as a metallic door knob, handle or key cylinder, which comprises a high resistance plate arranged adjacent the conductive grounding object and engaged at a portion thereof with the same. The high resistance plate has a first surface to be brought into contact with a person at a portion spaced from the conductive grounding object in a predetermined distance and a second surface to be adhered to a surface of a member on which the conductive grounding object is mounted.

Static shock eliminator

A reverberation sound generator is provided for use as a warning generator for giving a warning to the driver of an automobile, for example. The reverberation sound generator has a capacitor connected in series with a power supply, a pair of diodes and a pair of resistors connected in series with the capacitor, and a sound generator circuit connected between the pair of diodes and the pair of resistors. A sound generation command switch is joined in series with the diodes and resistors. There is a circuit for discharging the capacitor. The capacitor can be controlled in its charging and discharging in response to closing and opening of the sound generation switch. When the capacitor is charged and discharged, the sound generator circuit produces reverberation sounds, respectively.
