A powder coating apparatus for attaching powder to a film includes a forwarding roll which forwards the film; a take-up roll which is arranged on the downstream side of a conveyance direction of the film with respect to the forwarding roll and which takes up the film; a film-forming nozzle which is arranged between the forwarding roll and the take-up roll in the conveyance direction so as to be opposed to the film and which jets the powder; a first casing or a second casing which accommodates the forwarding roll and the take-up roll; an apparatus casing which accommodates the film-forming nozzle, the first casing, and the second casing; and a pressure adjustment unit configured to set an internal pressure of the first casing and the second casing to be higher than an internal pressure of the apparatus casing.

There is provided a photocatalyst sheet comprising a base material and a photocatalyst layer containing at least a photocatalyst, wherein the photocatalyst layer is firmly adhered to the base material. In an embodiment, there is provided a photocatalyst sheet comprising a base material; and a photocatalyst layer that contains at least a photocatalyst, and is formed on at least one surface of the base material through an aerosol deposition method. This photocatalyst sheet has an excellent photocatalytic activity and an excellent adhesion.

Method and apparatus for sintering flat ceramics

Some embodiments disclosed herein include a lighting apparatus having a composite. The composite may include a first emissive layer and a second emissive layer. The first emissive layer may include a first garnet phosphor having a common dopant. The second emissive layer may include a second garnet phosphor having the common dopant. In some embodiments, the first emissive layer and the second emissive layer are fixed together. Some embodiments disclosed herein include efficient and economic methods of making the composite. The method may include, in some embodiments, sintering an assembly that includes pre-cursor materials for the first emissive layer and the second emissive layer.

Garnet-based phosphor ceramic sheets for light emitting device

Disclosed herein are emissive ceramic materials having a dopant concentration gradient along a thickness of a yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) region. The dopant concentration gradient may include a maximum dopant concentration, a half-maximum dopant concentration, and a slope at or near the half-maximum dopant concentration. The emissive ceramics may, in some embodiments, exhibit high internal quantum efficiencies (IQE). The emissive ceramics may, in some embodiments, include porous regions. Also disclosed herein are methods of make the emissive ceramic by sintering an assembly having doped and non-doped layers.

Emissive ceramic materials having a dopant concentration gradient and methods of making and using the same

Disclosed herein are phosphor compositions having high gadolinium concentrations. Some embodiments include a thermally stable ceramic body comprising an emissive layer, wherein said emissive layer comprises a compound represented by the formula (AGdD)BO, wherein: D is a first dopant selected from the group consisting of Nd, Er, Eu, Mn, Cr, Yb, Sm, Tb, Ce, Pr, Dy, Ho, Lu and combinations thereof; A is selected from the group consisting of Y, Lu, Ca, La, Tb, and combinations thereof; B is selected from the group consisting of Al, Mg, Si, Ga, In, and combinations thereof; x is in the range of about 0.20 to about 0.80; and z is in the range of about 0.001 to about 0.10. Also disclosed are thermally stable ceramic bodies that can include the composition of formula I. Methods of making the ceramic body and a lighting device including the ceramic body are also disclosed.

A light emitting device includes: at least one light emitting component (LEC) comprising a light-emitting face having a longest linear dimension D; at least one wavelength-converting consolidated monolithic component (WCC) having a light-receiving face, a light-emitting face, and a peripheral edge. The WCC is radiationally linked to and spaced apart from the LEC at a distance D, Dbeing less than D, wherein a projection edge of the light-emitting face of the LEC and the peripheral edge of the WCC define a shortest distance Dtherebetween, wherein a surface area of the light-receiving face of the WCC is at least 120% of that of the light-emitting face of the LEC, and the LEC and WCC are positioned relative to each other to satisfy D/D&#x2267;1.

Light emissive ceramic laminate and method of making same

Some embodiments disclosed herein include a ceramic body including a first region and a second region. The first region may include a host material and first concentration of a dopant that is effective to produce luminescence. The second region may include the host material and second concentration of the dopant. In some embodiments, the first region has an average grain size that is larger than an average grain of the second region. The ceramic body may, in some embodiments, exhibit superior internal quantum efficiency (IQE). Some embodiments disclosed herein include methods for the making and using the ceramic bodies disclosed herein. Also, some embodiments disclosed herein lighting apparatuses including the ceramic bodies disclosed herein.

Ceramic body for light emitting devices

A light-emitting device includes a circuit board to which external electric power is supplied, a light emitting diode that is electrically connected onto the circuit board and emits light based on electric power from the circuit board, a housing provided on the circuit board so as to surround the light emitting diode and so that the upper end portion of the housing is positioned above the upper end portion of the light emitting diode, and a fluorescent laminate provided on the housing. The fluorescent laminate includes a first fluorescent layer that emits fluorescent light and a second fluorescent layer that emits fluorescent light having a wavelength that is longer than that of the first fluorescent layer. The second fluorescent layer is disposed on the housing and the first fluorescent layer is laminated on the second fluorescent layer.

Disclosed herein are a laminated composite and process for making the same. The laminated composite includes at least one wavelength-converting layer and at least one non-emissive layer, wherein a vertical relief gap pattern defines the composite into a plurality of discrete separable portions, and the discrete separable portions are breakably joined by a non-emissive layer. Separation along the relief gap pattern reduces color variation amongst the discrete portions and processes.
