A piercing terminal having high reliability for crimping is provided, by which the terminal can be securely pierced through a flat circuit body even if the circuit body has a thick conductor. The terminal includes: a conductive basal plate; and a plurality of claw pieces arising from both sides in the width direction of the basal plate, wherein a protrusion height of each claw piece is different. Each of the pair of claw pieces may have the same protrusion height and a protrusion height of each pair is different from that of the other pair. A notch is formed between the claw pieces adjoining each other in the length direction of the basal plate. A plurality of the claw pieces are formed so that an imaginary line connecting the tops of the claw pieces gradually inclines as approaching an end in the length direction of the basal plate.

Piercing terminal and machine and method for crimping piercing terminal

A housing is provided with an abutment face formed inside thereof so as to define an insertion opening, to which a electric wire terminal is inserted, and a chamber for accommodating the inserted terminal. The terminal penetrates a gel member before being inserted to the chamber. A holder is provided with an insertion passage through which the terminal passes before penetrating the gel member. The holder is engaged with the housing while being movable between a provisional engagement position and a plenary engagement position. The gel member is compressed against the abutment face of the housing when the holder is placed in the plenary engagement position. The gel member is held by the holder without compressing against the abutment face, when the holder is placed in the provisional engagement position.

Waterproof connector

The waterproof connector of the present invention, a connector housing of the waterproof connector is penetrated by which a first terminal through hole is parallel to each other at one side, and is provided with a gel accommodating chamber accommodating a gel slab material at the other side. A sustain portion is penetrated by a first terminal through hole which is parallel to each other and coincide with an axial line of each first terminal through hole. A gel slab material is accommodated in said gel accommodating chamber by holding between an inner wall surface of said connector housing and an inner wall surface of said sustain portion. A first gel rubbish accommodating portion, for accommodating gel chip rubbish, formed in said inner wall side of said connector housing. A second gel rubbish accommodating portion, for accommodating gel chip rubbish, formed in said inner wall side of said sustain portion.

The waterproof connector comprises a connector housing 31 with a plurality of terminal storage chambers 33 formed therein, an inner wall surface 37 which is formed in the inside of the connector housing 31 and on which a plurality of terminal mounting insertion openings 39 respectively in communication with their associated terminal storage chambers 33 are opened, and a plate-shaped gel 45 held within the connector housing in parallel to the inner wall surface 37, while a plurality of terminals, which have been made to pass through the gel 45, are respectively inserted from their associated terminal mounting insertion openings 39 to be thereby mounted into their associated terminal storage chambers 33. In the waterproof connector, on the respective peripheral edges of the terminal mounting insertion openings 39 of the inner wall surface 37, there are formed gel escape spaces 43 into which part of the gel 45 is allowed to advance.
